I am from the other side of Iowa and never got to meet Aaron, but in my 8 years of being in Boy Scouts I have never seen another Boy Scout that lived the scout oath and law perfectly like Aaron did.
This town has had more than its share of tragedy... grain elevator explosions, the horrific Chatterbox explosion of '73 and Aaron's death to name a few. Let's hope Aaron's memory will keep alive the prospect of hope.
im not fm eagle, but i go 2 school there, and we were friends. my friend told me about the news that day, i was bawling my eyes out. i was depressed the next 6 months. then i realized that hes in a better place. but what i didnt understand was, why do the good ones have to die? that questions still in my mind. RIP. I love you Aaron. rest in peace.
Aaron was truly the greatest soul i have ever had the honor to meet. I only meet him on june 8th 2008. Thank you for posting this the world is so much darker without him him here and i pary that he is with our LORD GOD in heaven and that i will see him again.
wow! thats really sad. i dont watch the news that much and didnt know anything about this. it is really sad what happened to aaron. i dont know any boy who would pick up sewing and make that many pillow cases.
i'm from eagle grove but i didnt know aaron personally, and when i heard about this, i cried. he was a good kid, and knowing there are people out there not living their life to like he did just sucks. there's people out there that are murderers. they deserve to die, NOT aaron. r.i.p. buddy.
i was aarons swim coach last summer and i have to tell you this young man was a gift from God. He truely was amazing, and while his time in our small Iowa town was short lived, his legacy will live strong in our hearts, minds, and community for many many years to come. i love you aaron, keep smiling hun.
Rest in Peace Aaron. I'm A Fellow Scout from Canada, and You're really an inspiration to me and others. You are loved by thirty eight million Scouts worldwide Aaron...

I'm a Scout leader in the UK, when I heard the news on the TV I was shocked. Our thoughts are will all.

This young man was an angel on earth. It's amazing how many lives he touched in his short time with us.
