@ShawnVikaKomova2012 It is the earliest one I have ever seen on beam (I have seen one on floor before this - i think it was Li Li) and it is Yuka Arai
A lot of the skills in the 90's and now are the same. Back then, those moves were just being competed, so they usually weren't performed very well. Now, we have had more time to tweak and perfect them, and, in my opinion, performed much better.
gymnastics in the 1900s is so much prettier to watch because the skills were more unique and intricate, now everyone does the same skills and it's boring but Jordyn Weiber made the American Cup fun to watch with her unique skills on bars
I really like your montages, but there seems to be a pretty obvious bias against US gymnasts. I appreciate gymnastics from all countries, but that does include American athletes. Not a big deal, and usually I like that you're exposing other athletes in this montage, but a couple of times there are performances from Americans that would make better examples, in my opinion.
i think you obviousley perfer now gymnastics because you make the NOW gymnast look better by making the 90's gymnast not stick the landing and the now gymnast stick of course so typical no one can appreciate 90's gymnstics which was obviousley better to watch
I do not prefer now gymnastics at all, I just tried to find the best examples of the element avaliable, which consists of more than just sticking a landing.
This was very nice to watch! I do think that on most skills the execution now is much better than in the 90's.. Not on all things though, and that tripple tuck from bars is insane!
When the new code of points was approved i thought it was really bad! But now i think that it is very nice! and for me the gymnasts of new gymnastics age are much more precises than those of 80s!
especially impressive when it comes to the vaulting, to think that the gymnasts of the 90's threw vaults on the old horse that are still considered difficult today.
no,that is our only world class gymnast...tina erceg...she is from croatia...i vids of her competing on nationals when she was like 10,11...she was great back then
Is 2:43 the first ever sheep? Yuka Arai of Japan?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
That is only because the person that made this video chose shit over rated gymnasts like Oksana Fabrichnova doing the gymnastics.
On vault the old vaulting horse made a huge difference plus the floor is a lot more springy now then then.
GymTruthTeller 2 years ago
Fabrichnova isn't over rated! If you want over rated talk about Carly!
