  • hi nice video ... Time machine can backup the iPhoto ?

  • Of course yes :)

  • What dell monitor are you using? I have to get one for my MacBook Pro.

  • does it kill space on HDD

  • lol i have backups to ocotber 2007 and have 300 GB left.lol. withalmost 5 updates per day.lol

  • fianl?

  • LOL LOL LOL LOL XDD

  • Not exactly

Time Machine needsa Proper Formated HFS+ partition, that's all

Your iOmega drive came FAT32 formated or not formatted at all, that's why Time Machine Assistant asked for reformatting

When All the Apps I use will be ready for Leopard, I'll Buy a 1To HD, and partition It to host the Leopard DVD (restored to the first Partion) and the rest for Time Machine (maybe one mor for a Bootable Backup of my working internal HDD)

  • Can I use just a partition of a hard drive if my external is bigger than internal or do I have to assign the whole drive to time machine? Thanks.

  • LMAO I loved the way you were like "oh my gosh....i have lost a very important file...how will i get it back?" HAHAHAHAH awesome. love your videos dude. i'll be getting my copy today. w007!

and u have gmail dont u? if so i know how u can get gmail to work in mail if u wanna know

  • cool

  • you can thank sun's ZFS file system for time machine.

  • You're incorrect. Time Machine runs on the standard Mac OS Extended file system.

  • hmmmm, well I do not work for apple but article after article have stated and Sun announcing it as well somme time back.

"Time Machine is based on the ZFS file system released by Sun Microsystems under an open source licence." from: pcw[dot]co[dot]uk/vnunet/news/2201290/apple-finalizes-release-leopard

  • wouldn't ZFS make it easier to mange a "Pool" of disks saying a user has more than one and thus time machine would have a simpler time utilizing the extra storage?

  • I have no doubt HFS+ could handle it, but I wish I could confirmation on this now.

  • Hi mrbit10.

I've been using Leopard for a long time as an Apple Developer. Although ZFS is available to developers for testing, Time Machine runs on standard HFS+ file system at the moment.

If you open Disk Utility and check the file system of your Time Machine backup disk, you will see that it is not ZFS.

  • yea my pre-order gets here monday. i have found a few articles that say it is not zfs, but others swear by it and I would not imagine Apple using the ZFS name as that would breach the open agreement. But I will take your word for it.

  • i did go and get the shirt though lol

  • when will the review be uploaded ?

  • LOL! I love how melodramatic you sounded: "oh my gosh, I have lost a very important file, how can I get it back?"

  • lol i know, even i was abtou to laugh when i was doin that.lol.

  • Great videos, it's been fun following your progress with Leopard lol. Look forward to reviews and stuff!
