wow, grant is one of the most under-rated songwriters not to mention his amazing drumming skills, and the majority of you twerps are talking about he and bob's sexuality?
What does it matter that any of Husker Du's guys were gay? They were terrific musicians, and their records still make peoples' lives better and inspire great music. Surely that's as good a reason as any for people to stop making a fuss about sex.
They were both out and maybe not couple or dated but had intimate moments. They are both gay and were both out, We all knew. Grant Hart on the time "because other people were saying he was closeted and stuff, which was certainly not true if anybody from Minneapolis would have asked, "What side is Bob's butter on?" There was no question". A.V.club None of this matters. Also this is NOT a Husker Du song.
I was wondering if by any chance you have 'All of my senses' by Grant Hart. I love it so much, I don't know who had put it on youtube but it's now gone...
I thought Bob is gay, Grant and Michael straight....I remember reading somewhere that Bob came out of the proverbial closet during the Sugar period....
cool song - I don't keep up enough about the Bob, Grant or Michael post-Husker Du. Great band with three great individuals.
This was originally performed as a Husker Du song in 1987. It's nice that Bob and Grant are both pulling out some old tunes on new albums: Grant with Cold House and Bob with Trade.
Nope, I dont think it was.. Im a huge Husker fan and I dont have any records of this song from back in the day. If Im wrong, please let me know. I would love to track this one down.
Agreed. Grant also once said that nostalgia is the symptom of a dieing culture. Couldn't be more true with the state of modern music that's getting all the airplay. One man's opinion.
Good News For Modern Man is an excellent album and in solo Grant Hart could easily emulate his former bandmate Bob Mould!

Only Hart could write a song like this. One of a kind artist.

Gayness aside, the fact remains that Grant is a more talented musician than Bob.

Bob and Grant were a couple. He was out before Sugar. Workbook is all about his break up with Grant.

I hate to sound like a Homophobe, because im not. I've been a fan for years. The video started out excellent until the dancer part, LOL...
I can see the point he's making, but it turns off some of his straight fans. Ok you all can rip on me now, thats just me. I still love the music!

Who's Michael? LOL...

whoops - sorry - there is no Michael in the band - I really meant Greg.....I'm an old man and a little bit out of touch nowadays.
I think my original question was a bit off of the cuff,so I really don't care if it gets answered.
Thanks for posting this video. Good song.
I like this you tube video called "Leatherface loves Husker Du" - type those words into the engine.

Towering above the city
The ghettos in the sky
Concrete spires of isolation
Forty stories high
Fenced in by their own suspicions
The people are afraid
Crawl inside their cages
Lock the door and pull the shade

In a cold city
In a cold cold cold cold world

Brightly coloured tenements
So pleasing to the eye
Glass and stainless steel enclosures
Hid what we deny
People are afraid to look
Afraid what they will see
Inside the illusion it's the same reality
