The VietCong lost way more men then the US. American has never lost more men then its killed in battle. If Vietnam was lost then it was lost by the Politicians in Washington D.C. Not the Troops who fought.

Well its obvious not many people here know how the military works. You cant just bomb the shit out of them and 1 marine recon force will not be able to take on the entire taliban army. Yes pakistan is fighting but they are not using their full potential. Taliban fighters are porely trained and armed but they still are a threat, even a 5 year old with an AK47 can be deadly. The only way to defeat the Taliban is to use older tactics. Sweep and clear is the only method. Use infantry and kill them.

What my Pakistani brother means to say is that when your uncle fought in Vietnam, he also had to pull out in shame and south Vietnam fell to the communists. Now you have been unsuccessful in stopping the Taliban since you invaded Afghanistan in 2001. Yet by the grace of God we have the Taliban on the run in a year's worth of fighting. Things can be cleared up much quickly if we debate while respecting each other's country and Religion in a gentlemanly manner.

No none of the kashmiri organizations have anything to do with this war. The taliban were the extension of the mujahideen created to fight the soviet union which was done with the help and at the behest of the americans (and against India supported uzbek militias). And the TTP are not even those. They have been created as a spillover of the new war in afghanistan. They didnt exist before 2001. Please get your facts straight before commenting. The war is in the north west. Not kashmir

The fact is public education system is a mess, which is poor kids rely on Saudi funded 120000 odd madrassas for education. A small minority of abt 5-10% of these kids become radicalized and become Talibans.
If pakistan diverted the money the waste in Indian Kashmir on public education this mess would not have been there.

But in India there is no external entity that has mass penetrated or has mass funded our educational system to preach a branch of religious extremism like the way Saudis have influenced your system.
It's not good for a country when the an entire generation is influenced by a brand of religious extremism which is funded by external sources.

Oh so religious extremism is the only problem in the world. If you read any form of sociology it identifies two types of fundamentalism: political and religious. And forgive me for pointing it out but nationalistic/communist ideologies done far worse than Islamists
And then you forget the all loving and embracing shiv sena, MNS, the hindutva organizations. Pakistan has less than 2% Islamists in parliament. India has the entire BJP. Or would you say that Modi had nothing to do with gujrat

No Taliban and Al Qaeda are organizations which do nothing but murder and kill. But every form of extremist ideology is bad including nationalistic. Sri Lanka, a nationalistic war. One side created suicide bombing, the other brought ethnic cleansing to the 21st century. Why do you think the Bangladesh war was fought? Also the same. But then again the Mukhti Bhaini were freedom fighters not terrorists. Those can only be against India.

Very little on the Tamil Tigers... Almost immediately we realized our folly and stopped funding them...
We have spent close to a $100million on Afghanistan which personally is a waste according to me.

Kashmir has bankrupt the economy! How intelligent of you. What you dont realize is that despite everything Pakistan is still marginally behind India in GDP per capita and had same growth. The economy got ruined after the afghan war which has nothing to do with kashmir.
Look at it this way. Pakistan spends 3 Billion a year on defense. India just announced 27 Billion in the budget (more %age wise as well) India has the most poor in the world. And you are telling us we are paranoid about Kashmir?

And if you must know most of the people who fight for the Taliban dont do so out of a religious obligation. They do so because of Tribal loyalties. There is no Pakistani Taliban. There are the Mehsuds and the Wazirs who never even bowed to the British or the Russians and they wont do so now. Religious war, this has nothing to do with religion. The most prominent Taliban commanders are Haqqani and Hekmatyar and formely Abdullah Mehsud. They were fighting before Mullah Omer even existed

There are skeletons there just as bad. You say time will tell. It already is: There are 20,000 Naxalites in India. About as much as the Taliban in Pakistan.
So why dont you ask Indians and your govt. to check on the Hindutva organizations or to cut down on military spending. Because an arms race isnt done by one nation alone
