  • WHITE MOLLIES NICE!

  • maybe the koi died cos of nitrogen spikes? :S

  • I think the koi died because you dont have a filter

  • even i have a pot pont smaler than urs ....! i found a very intresting thing wh might help u out !

    1. kissing gourmies r great in t pond bec they eat algae and if u can get a hybrid lotus it will bw great .. i got one or rs 200 and it acts as a great filter and provides shades .... remember wt i have learned from my experience is dt there should be lots of hiding places for t fish in order to grow and survive ....

  • @jaisinghdeep1988 Thanks for your valuable time & feedback.

Now I have moved to the new home. I am planning a slightly bigger natural pond. I will follow both of your inputs. Thanks once again

  • @jaisinghdeep1988 Thank you so much buddy it is useful - now I got larger garden and planning a larger pond - will use your tips

  • no filters or air pumps. I thought they will spoil the natural ambiance. So thought I will keep only four small fish and handle the balance with natural plants inside.

When I move on to the new house I am planning a natural pond in the garden. I will definitely install filters/airation.

What would be minimal size for a Koi pond then?

  • @sugumargovinda 500 gallons minumum, for every extra 50 gallons you can add 1 koi, more filtration and areation allows more koi, there is a line though where the koi should have ample swimming space and depper water to hide, remember these fish will reach 2'

  • what are doing for filtration? aeration? koi have no business in a container that small. what were you gonna do, you know koi can grow to 30" plus?

  • @nightstalkerrc I did not set up any filteration. I thought since there are only four fishes the natural plant alone will do. I guess I am wrong. When I set up my natural fish pond in our new home, I will make sure filteration is set up. But even in this pond, I cant have a 30" growing fish. So let me find the right kind of fishes. . . Thanks for your feedback
