This is a fantastic version of this great song ! I have met this artists cousin on singsnap.com (a top Karaoke on line program who mentioned Timi .)...and she too has an amazing voice!... I listen to her and I love to do so! Timi sure is great! I will be listening to her other songs!... so impressed...
I used to listen to Timi Yuro back in the early 60's and always wondered what happened. What happened was she lived and entertained and died and NEVER got the overwhelming fame that was due her. It's sad to think some people could hear her today and change the CD to one of today's "stars". I should think those "stars" would burn red hearing Ms. Yuro and then compare her talent with their technology driven "talent".
when we first Timi Yuro we thought she was black. what a shame she didn't go on to bigger things. god knows she had more talent than most. also i;m sorry she died
She's like an American Edith Piaf, with that powerful voice choked up with emotion. I only heard of her today, because I saw the Greek video "As Long As there Is you remix" but I feel cheated that I never heard of her until long after she passed. I guess I have MAD TV (Greece) to thank.
She really needed a record producer who understood her style and didn't just recycle orchestrations that worked for other singers. Her voice was powerful and her emotional style was intense, and the "easy listening" chorus backing her up here was simply not suitable. No wonder she was reportedly dissatisfied with the way the record company was handling her career: her talent was not treated with proper respect.
My mother played this song so much when i was growing up, and i am so glad she did, along with all the other greats like Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole, Brenda Lee,etc.I always thought she was a big black woman who could put it to the mic, but was i wrong. This is my favorite song she sang, and there are quite a few.A voice and ability to really sing a song that would put so many of today's so called "Divas" to shame.Thank you Timi for your gifts, and may you and my mom forever Rest in Peace.
love this also,,,ray price did such a great job on this ,,a better version than eddy arnolds ,,but both,,ray and timi,,put some sould and power into it,,listen to ray prices version ,,a lot of similiarities

One of my all time favorites by Timi Yuro. Eat your heart our Eddy Arnold and Ray Price and I say that with all due respect to them. Good Post.
