This makes me cry every time I see it. I think this was one of the most deserving Oscar wins ever, along with one of the best performances in cinematic history- no exaggeration. This is up there with Charlize Theron in Monster, Holly Hunter in The Piano and Hilary Swank in Million Dollar Baby. All incredible and awe inspiring performances.

Just read the script. It's a difficult role to play without making it over the top. I remember an interview with Girl Interrupted's director and they said they auditioned all the big starlets in Hollywood, and they all played Lisa as an over the top caricature. Only Angelina played Lisa like a real person.

This win should have been a tie between Anjelina Jolie and Toni Collette because they were Amazing. Toni Collette didn't have that many scenes to work with but the scenes that she did work with were believable and very emotional. Anjelina Jolie had alot of scenes to work with however, even though they all weren't good as other scenes, she kept on getting better and better as the movie moved on to the end. So this should have been a tie. But of course Anjelina won also because of politics.
