@adenfranks huh? it's a nightlight.....it's a lighbox for tracing for animation purposes...its a low-power softbox for those dimly lit live action scenes in extreme darkness.....it's incandescent....
Seems like a smart and efficient way to make a light box. but there is a bit of a problem. When transferring sketches into lineart, you need to, well, apply pressure.
a simple piece of glass you work fine, but I thought I'd bring it up.
@Newbonzy for that you can just add a plexiglass sheet over it. plexiglass is cool also because the it maintains a very high static charge which will keep your paper on it and in position very nicely :)
I did something similar. I got one of those thick tops from a kinkos paper box. Cut a big square out of it, but left enough to keep it strong. I got a big thick flat piece of plastic from on old toy and taped it over the square with shipping tape. Put a bright toy light under it. It worked fantastic . . . I wonder where I put the thing . . .
no you cant draw on it. i made a desk out of plywood and mounted it in a hole in the center and put a plexiglass sheet over it. plexiglass is REALLY good to draw on because it's perfectly smooth and it gets staticky so the paper doesn't slide around
just for fun. i was trying to make a couple aimated movies, but i have no idea what i'm doing, and animation is REALLY hard and tedious. now i do computer animation
yeah, i dont have to worry about downshots, lighting, keeping the camera in position, putting my subject in the background, or trying to keep a consistant look. also, the coloring is a lot easier on the computer, cuz before i was using colored pencils, which made the colors uneven.
whats the actuall light called

hye.. is it usefull for silk screen printing? is the light box helps to burn a picture?????
haRdstyLeRMaLz 2 years ago
ummm.....i really have no idea what silk screen printing is, but i don't think it would help you burn a picture......

@haRdstyLeRMaLz
This depends on your light source, you need a light within the UV spectrum. Halogen or metal halide lights work well.
