  • Billy West and door-to-door Pastafarians? I want this on TV immediately!

  • As a fellow vegan, I absolutely LOVE this video! Very well made!

  • @luidavinci

Thanks for the comment. Be sure to check out the Tofu merch on the monsterbot3000 site

  • wow

  • Peter Lorre?

  • @MAXimumtheTiMeR

that is correct. And Ellen Muth for the voice of Addie

  • Can this please get picked up by a network?

  • @Icebane42

We are working on trying to make that happen.

  • I LOVE ELLEN MUTH!

  • This is awesome :D wish it were an actual cartoon!! id watch it.

  • That's awesome Billy West did some of the voices. Also flying spaghetti monster FTW!

  • I love the way he sings 'theveganzombieeee'.. CHARMING!

  • Is it just me, or is the mad scientists daughter Ellen Muth? Because that's bloody awesome!

  • @TheZacula

That's her! She's amazing and we were lucky to get her and Billy West involved!

For those that didn't know... there are some cool Tofu the Vegan Zombie Products available on the monsterbot3000 site.

    Thanks for the support!

  • @TheZacula

Yes.... And we couldnt be happier that she was part of it!

  • Nice work! Nickelodeon should be making original stuff like THIS instead of rehashing Jimmy Neutron characters for Planet Sheen.

  • I admire the work put into it, I just dont think that ellen muth was the best choice for Addie's voice.

  • omg saved by tofu

  • Well I liked it.

  • LOVE IT! any more episodes?

  • did u make these. THIS SHOOD B A REAL TV SHOW. keep it up, u goin places

  • 2:36 Teddy Scares is on the TV, and if I recall, that is the exact same scene where you can see the mad doctor on Hester's TV!

  • Holy crap!!!! That was great! Monkey + Zombies = Comedic gold! I hope more episodes get made. That was great entertainment.

  • Awesome

  • Just wow!!!

  • that was so awesome. I really wish this was a series!

  • I loved this spooky cartoon, tofu was cute.

  • I liked it, would like to see it as a series actually on Nickelodeon or something. Seems an appropriate outlet for play. I saw a lot of details in this that most people take for granted, such as the rat in the basement for example, and I just gotta say I really liked it a lot. Btw, there's no way to watch it from that link/site, just not there. I still enjoyed it though. Great job guys! I bet it helped a ton to be using those nice Nvidia Quadro workstations.

  • im a graduate from the art institution of BLAH BLAH BLAH this is fun so shutup :p

  • I LOVED the playful yet spooky feel this video had. Plus the Peter Lorre homage was totally rad. Great job done all around on this vid. Five stars!

  • To be honest your inconsideration for the effort and time put into a full composition really shows your lack of knowledge in the art field. I'm a graduate from the International Academy of Design and tech and this is piece is rather put together rather well with plenty of things worth recognizing. Definately enjoyable.

  • As a student at the school of the art institute of chicago. I have seen better Animated shorts from freshman. this is awful. at least it has Ellen Muth in it i guess.

  • HAHAHA! PASTAFARIANISM! 3:53!!

  • wow this was really fun :D

  • o and billy west was in it cool

  • lol the peter loarie type guy

  • love it,want more

  • okay....

  • the daughter is voiced by George from Dead Like Me

  • Excellent!

  • sweet

  • lol this is awesome

  • Love zhe Monkey XD

  • ..what is this? kinda strange

  • cool! hope to see more episodes soon...

  • lol

  • LOL I loved it

  • Grains, grains, grains... ;)

  • LOL

  • is that ren's voice?

  • No but Billy West did play Stimpy.

  • entertaining, but im REALLY bored. so thats not saying much.

  • this is an expert creation , all aspects from sound design to animation to the voicework is terrific .

  • Killing a vegetarian zombie is like killing a paralyzed werewolf or a toothless vampire.

  • It's like killing a drowning sea monster eh?

  • Ellen Muth is great in whatever she does! I'd love to see her doing the voice for a animated George Lass Dead Like Me cartoon.

    Tofu is awesome!

  • I love the imitation of Peter Lorre. He shows up in everything. Looney Tunes, Corpse Bride, Teddy Scares (Dave's School film), Aladdin, the Simpsons - he's everywhere.

  • Hell's Chef: Food does NOT belong on your HEAD!

    Tofu: Huh? Ummmmmmm...

    (If Chef wins)

Hell's Chef: Learn some respect for Cuisine!

    (If Tofu wins)

Tofu: (Giggles nervously, sighs with relief)

  • lol... mormons don't try to "save" people

Did they get them mixed up with jehova's witnesses?

    Nice animation though

  • They've both knocked on my door at ungodly hours.

  • sweet animation I can't wait to see more

  • tofu is soo coo<3

i love the whole idea of a zombie being a vegan/vegetarian

    :]

  • wut the hell is this

  • I love Ellen Muth in this

  • agreed...but she's great in anything.

  • my mom oh wow

  • I do have to say, this video definitely merits way MORE views than it currently has. I've seen stuff far less receive way more views. People who are fans of this need to plug it to people. I know I have been.

  • lol the pamphlet had the flying spaghetti monster on it. classic.

  • Wow, somehow you seem to have captured what happens in my house almost every day and made it into a cartoon. Well now people know what my family is really like!(*but Christmas is alot worse... ever wondered why they say Santa isn't real? Well, lets just say he's all tied up) *hits mummy Santa with a tire iron*

  • HOLY FUCK FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER FTW

all hail his noodly appendage!! woot

  • I Love Ellen Muth!!!!!

  • haHA Awsome yeah pretty cool thang

  • Dis u make this

  • This is really awsome it should totally be on tv man

  • Wow... How'd they get footage of my family? LOL

  • there's a picture of lady tottington from wallace and gromit curse of there wererabbit at the top left corner at 4:25

  • top right corner i mean

  • i saw that professor somewhere from looney tunes

  • I found this thru a news link in a Peter Lorre search (b/c I love him :D) and the link mentioned Peter's inspiration for the Professor character, which led me to your video. I really, really thought this was cool...great story line, awesome job!

  • Peter Lorre was amazing!

  • @bellabohemian i stumbled on this because ellen muth is in it i love her and so i looked it up

  • :O this rocks!

  • kind wierd (in a good way).

  • this should be on tv!! or in theaters!

  • News on the animation....

Tofu the Vegan Zombie: Zombie Dearest took away 4 awards at the 2008 Telly Awards. Winning Categories: Children's Audience, Use of Animation, Use of Humor and Editing.

  • This was great fun, love the title track. I'm gonna have that stuck in my head for a few days! Happily!I want more please.

  • why didnt it occured to the professor to make his wife a vegan zombie?

  • There is something special about Tofu the Vegan Zombie. The Professor has tried putting a Tofu block in her head but it was a no go...

Tofu takes on the flavor of what it is cooked with....if the Prof can figure out what makes Tofu so special then maybe he can get this to work on more zombies..

  • this rocks!where does the vegan aspect come from in the first place?is it just counter to usual brain eating?just asking coz im vegan, but i think if i became a zombie i would eat human brains no problem, just not animals.xxxi love it!

  • lol "careful u'll choke to uhh..death...?" lolol

  • Wow, How does this only get 50k Views and a 20 second clip of a sleeping dog gets 500k Views.

Looks like this took a LOT of work to pull off and I'm really impressed ^^ Good work guys, I wish this got more attention then it did!

  • yeah i'm giving it a B too, all the work that went into it, should have gone the extra mile and made the lipsync tighter, the animation livelier, and the textures a little more organic, and less canned. the professor looks like a handpuppet, his face is dead. the titles go on too long and their music is half-assed. yep, B. twenty years ago this would have been mindblowing. but it's not twenty years ago.

  • Come on, William's doing this with a bunch of DAVE school students...this ain't Pixar buddy. A+++. - inigo07

  • more brains, brains!!!!brains!!!!

  • Overall Score for me: B

The good: The art direction, concept, creativity, and overall production is excellent.

The bad: The episode's story is weak and very very thin. The voice acting is dead and monotone. And the animation is slow and clunky.

  • Excellent animation, but I think it should win the weirdest short film of the year award or something.

  • VERY VERY COOL!!! :-D

  • I wanna more :D

  • my art teacher (mr. stranges) has a son who was in the group of people who made this. me, mike, doug, and stevie, all watched it together w/ mr. stranges, this is by far the best animation ever! it roundhouse kicks any other animation in the nuts. it deserves to be made into a full length movie! i love it so much.

  • amazingness.

  • wow!

    need more tofu episodes!

  • Very amusing :D

  • this was my first time watching this and i thought it was gonna suck but wow blew me away it was rather quite good....but i wonder, how the hell did you get the idea

  • i like the beginning were the zombie thing was on his Tricycle going around the hallway just like the movie "The Shinning". verry good movie!

  • when are yall gonna have more :)

  • nice job

  • AWESOME! I LOVE this!

    Wonderful work ^_^

  • Awesome! Loved the Monkey's slam dunk lol

  • Very impressed. The animation had a very nice, finished feel and the character design was well concieved and pleasing to look at. I really like the peter lorre'esque prof.

Also, it is a very good idea to start with. looking forward to more.

P.S. the opening and ending credits are done with alot of style and flair.

  • This was awesome.

    You all are very talented.

  • Congratulations to all the staff of the first episode of Tofu! It's a great work. And the beginning animation is simply fantastic! Waiting for the second episode...

  • this was fantastic. im thinking this was a class project or something like tht right? it reminds me of the shorts fullsail and UAT make every now and again. But this one is the best ive seen by far. I love opening

  • The Students at the Dave School created this...They did an amazing job IMHO!

  • That's because Full Sail sucks.

  • Extremely sub-zero cool! I like the style and the story. I see this in a bigger scale. Good luck bud! But I don't you need it.

  • I was excited to see Tofu as #1 on You Tube. It's also cool to see over 8k views in about a weeks time.....

  • congrats its a real accomplishment you should be pround =]

  • Tofu got #1 on You Tube. Congrats.

  • Well done guys - It looks superb

  • just sweet...

  • I was fooled into thinking the intro was real. I was shocked to hear that it was 3d graphics.

Would be cool to see an entire episode in the style of the intro

  • I LOVE THIS!

    Especially the begining!

We need more "puppetry" animations. I can barely believe that is 3D animation and not really puppets!

Please go further with this series!!

This is the first animation I feel really fits the medium that it is created in!

    <345
