  • THUMBS UP FOR CANADIAN FLAG AT 0:51 !

  • Is Ra gay?

  • @66tull Not sure, but after years of listening to them on records in the 70's, I was pretty surprised to see him dancing around like that when I saw them live for the first time in the 80's.

  • @66tull No Ra is not gay... I know him, and his wife Debbie .

  • I remember when they performed in Terrace, BC it was one of the first concerts I attended. The pot makes me try to remember who I was with? I think it was the kids mom ( Roberta Duncan ) from Kitimat, BC or was it Martha Watts from the Nass Valley?

  • Classic!! Saw these guys several times over the years....I will always remember Ra calling a bunch of us on stage to sing back up vocals on this song. We still talk about this!! I even chatted with Ra after a show in Calgary and he remembers the venue and of course calling us up on stage!!

  • CANT WAIT TO SEE THESE GUYS ON JULY.26TH

  • grew up seeing these wonderful guys play at the Zodiac Caberet........they rocked!

  • almost up there with RUSH!

  • Canada's a rock garden

  • Fantastic archival footage of a great party band. My first rock concert was Trooper on this tour, at the Regina Agridome. Didn't see them again until 2004 and loved how they didn't take themselves seriously (unlike the opening act, Honeymoon Suite). You never hear much about Trooper, but they were clearly the best of 70s CanCon acts.

  • great fade to black moment at the end of the performance

  • Rah. Trooper was and is one of my favorites. Saw the band so many times growing up - and now we are neighbors in White Rock. One of the best voices in Canadian rock and roll. You and Burton. There they go, the boys in the bright white sports car!

  • @XLR8RBC .....and as a fellow WR'r we also enjoy BTO and a few others.

  • this song is about a woman who thinks shes all that, but he can see right through it. tells her shes just a 3, not looks but attitude, personality. struttin around like shes better then everyone else.

  • I've always loved this song by Trooper. This was at the Edmonton Northlands Coliseum, eh? Good video!

  • I think this is the best song they ever made and I was there!

  • TROOPER RULES! Pity ya if you didn't grow up in Canada.

  • So what I'm getting is that it's almost like going to the bar with your beer goggles on and seeing an Ugly girl all Dolled up and she looks better then she really is. Like a trick or disguise..

Because a 3 would look like a 9 with a little Curvy piece added to it!!

    Anyone care to clarify?

  • Sort of - except it is more literal. It is based on a scale of 10. A 3 is not attractive at all and a 9 is almost perfect. So in the dark with beer goggles a girl with make up and clothes it might be hard to tell how attractive she really is.

  • More like women who are full of themselves and truly believing the warped mental image they produced to make them feel better when they really are terrible people.

This song can be about more than just looks.

  • Hi Him, loved your comment to 3 Dressed up as a 9, I'm living with one and I hate her...thanks for the comment, I know I'm not alone...

  • @CortezInc55 dump her mate

  • you are defenitly not alone buddy, we all feel your pain

  • more cowbell.

  • HAH! You're right! Good one.

  • totally needs more cowbell! i thumbed u up back to zer0

  • This song applies to almost every slag passed off as "talented" in today's entertainment. I'm lookin at you, Lady Gaga, if by some blundering mystery you had the musical taste to wander here in the first place.

  • I like old rock!!!! xD

  • another great Canadian band

  • I've looked at all the listed sites and still haven't found "Roll With It" here. Am I the only Trooper fan who likes this tune?

  • 'fo sho' needs mo cow bell lol and canadian bands rool! april wine, trooper, rush, lover boy, brian adams, chilliwack, pam andrson JJ lmao!

  • how many women did you ever seen in a bar that looked like a 9 out of 10 but up close they're actullay a 3out of 10 or lower lmao great thanx for the vid

  • needs more cowbell

  • @guitarz04 I got a fever! And the only prescription is more cowbell! lol

  • @guitarz04 lols great fucking comment man

  • @guitarz04 lmao

  • You just got to love Canadian Rock!!!!

  • @longwanghung You got that right, it truly is the best!

  • Great group saw them in High school in Poco they rock .

  • I told a friend who was unfamiliar with the it that this was the greatest "cut down" song ever.

He laughed when he heard it, and agreed.

When this came out, there was some fuss from some lesbo women's rights group in Canada because it objectified women. Rae answered back that it was a rock 'n roll song that was funny. The dykes were never heard from again!

  • All dressed up but you're only a 3.

10 years before I was born, played in the place I've lived all my life. Rock On!!

  • ha ha she is nice from a far but far from nice...Elle est belle de loin mais loin d'etre belle

  • what is that? jewellery?

  • i am confused. what does int mean exactly?

  • lmfao i finally figured out wat 3 dressed up as a 9 means lol...i mean granted this is actually really the only tym i actually thought about wat it meant but i always heard my parents playing this song wen i was younger but i never gave much thought 2 wat it meant lol

  • what is a 3 dressed up as a 9?

  • An ugly girl dressed in nice clothers to make herself look better.

  • thanks...

  • the idea is that the 'perfect' size for a woman was a 9, and many people weren't 9s, so the song is about someone who was a 3, trying to look like a 9, if i offened anyone, sorry, that's what the media ideas were back then, and making songs with media ideas was easier because people actually understood the song

  • No Kaowaul it's not about that at all.He is comparing her to a 3/10 and 9/10 being almost perfect in looks....She looks good from a far but she is far from nice or good looking get it?

  • and dressed to the nines is someone who is smartly dressed

  • well innoe i think of it as dressing 4 the part u know lyk innoe how 2 explaine it 2 sum1 who does'nt know me i have a weird way of explaining things lol i guess lyk that dude in Theres something about mary i guess u know tucker i think his real name was norman or sumthing prettending 2 be sum1 else but he really was jus a pizza delivery boy...3 dressed up as 9 lol i guess lol

  • rock on funky dude...

  • love it...why is it not on their greatest hits?

  • Great question. This is an awesome song. I know they have some new original songs they haven't released too !!

  • we have to support canadian music...

  • Best band in the world.

  • in the best city

  • TROOPER ROCKS!!!!!!!!

  • few years back when they played at meritt mountain music fest they gave me passes and told me to stay in the tour bus because they were flying out after there show. and i didn't :(

  • Great to see this! It reminds of a night way back when me and some of my buddies sang on stage with these guys. We did back ground vocals to this song! It was a blast. Are we singers? Hell no! Ra McGuire just asked us to come up.

  • As a former basketball coach, I was shocked to see the kids wanting my generation's music for their warm-up. I teased my son saying yes, WE ROCKED!!! lol

  • nice tune

  • lol...there"s a lot of( that)... walking around today...3 dressed up as a 9.

  • lol...when they showed the crowd it was a jean jacket flashback..a lot changed since 79 but the music of the 70s and 80s is what i miss the most, theres no music that can pump a person up anymore...wonder why??

  • This song reminds me of a buddy i used to know who bought this really cool maverick with a 289 engine.Used to pop wheelies with it,now everytime i hear this song i see a black 73 maverick in the pigment of my imagination popping wheelies lol

  • MOST MUSIC SUCKS ROCKS!!!!

  • As far as i know there are only 2 origanal members that play in trooper !!

  • The lead singer and the bass player are the only original ones left.

  • Brian ( Smitty ) is the Lead guitar from Rae first singing most lead vocals.

Randy Bachmann helped out a little in the beginning.

The last bass player was out of Powell river and plays great also

  • There was a fuss about this song?? Where was I? It's just a bloody song, sheesh. Who does that song "She Ain't Pretty She Just Looks That Way?" I swear some people stay up all night just looking for something to be angry about. Don't we have enough material as it is? ha ha

  • The Northern Pikes sing 'She ain't pretty she just looks that way.'

  • trooper did make alot of memorable songs and to this day they do there appearances but does anyone know if all the original members are still there?

  • Comment removed

  • You can't forget these guys. They're imbedded into Canadian culture. When you think Canada in terms of music, Trooper is right up there with April Wine, Stompin' Tom, Bryan Adams, Anne Murray, Joni Mitchell, etc.

There are just certain musicians/bands who have been a part of our lives for so long that when I hear their songs, I automatically think of home (Canada).

Maybe it's this way for some of our neighbours down south?

  • Hey Talentshines, I agree with you completely. I moved to Califonia from Kitchener, Ontario (work related) and still love the Canadian content.
