  • will this help with the 1.8t sludge problem?

  • Good job, now you have one "clean" cylinder.

  • @TGXtrucker I'm sure u can google who owns who and get the correct info......dumbass

  • I want to try this with cheap beer.

  • They bouth owne eachother idiots

  • @hairykrak

The b5 v6 only has 190hp and the 1.8 has 170. The 2.8 is heavier and doesn't have a turbo... The 1.8 is slightly lighter And with a turbo. Overall they are evenly matched. The 1.8 is a way better engine and are much better to modify rather then the 2.8 but truthfully both are great cars. And then there is the b5 s4... A whole other story =)

  • @Rick9565

Your a dumbass Audi is owned by Volkswagen not Pontiac, pontiac is owned by general motors and they discontinued making pontiacs, Volkswagen also owns lamborghini, bugatti, seat, bentley

  • @tylerrrxo You're also a dumbass. Audi ISN'T owned by volkswagen, volkswagen is owned by Audi....

  • engine looks very clean =)

  • its terrible to do that on a turbo car it will burn out the turbo!

  • you should be keeping it revved up while you do that to around 2500 i belive

  • Hey man, how often do you seafoam your B5? I have 130k on mine and thinking its going to need it.

  • No mate, don't be silly, it's a week 1.8 4 cylinder! The 2.8 has so much more torque and higher bhp

  • @Hairykrak

The 1.8 is easier to tune to much higher HP.

  • Audi, a german pontiac.

  • @rick9565

Since when did Pontiac make any quattro cars?

  • LOL you are only treating 1 cyl you need to put that stuff in so it will go to all of them.

  • just for next time u should keep ur rpm at about 2k when you do this

  • isnt the car supposed to stall out by itself?

  • I miss my TT Quattro

  • why do you use that stuff??

  • way too quick. sigh.

  • thanks dude but man its such a pain in the ass to get stuff off this car haha did you take the whole TB off or you just took the hose to clean it cause its a pain to get the two bottom bolts out with out like droping them haha but i wanna clean the whole thing so ill get it off some how i guess ha. thanks dude

  • How do you like the car after the seafoam? I have an 05 1.8t and i love it. I have about 100k on the OD and just got a check engine light. My vacuum hose is leaking just below the manifold.

  • loved it. Yeh that hose is very common to wear out. Easy fix.

  • wat does seafoam do???

  • @krispyn2dc where is the vacumn hose located? and what size tubing. I have a passat 1.8t i think is same engine.

  • hay man whats up got a ? would you know why my car when its under 2,000rpm it like misfires but i really think its not a misfire changed spark plugs and coils. but when its over 2,000 rpm it runs great it an 02 a4 1.8t. lets just say when im costing at like 45 50 mph and the rpms are under 2,000 rpm it will rev up to 2,000 and than drop back to normale it will do it like every 5 secons or so if you know please le tme know thanks

  • I had a similiar issue with this car for a little while. The rpm's and the car would stutter at idle a lot. It turned out to be the throttle body. It had a lot of build up over time. After cleaning it, it was smooth again. I would try checking your throttle body and to a throttle body adaption.

  • @giantsfan41990

    check the coil

  • krispyn did you have any probelms with this car. cause i want to buy one and hopefully not have any problemsdown the road.

  • No serious problems...this car was at about 140k miles when I took this video. There were a number of minor issues that are not a big deal if you know how to work on cars...I had a c ouple ignition coils go out, hazard switch go out, super easy DIY....other wise regular maintenance

  • I'm pretty sure you're suppose to have someone in the car holding it at 2500rpm...no?

  • idiot

  • In know its on the vacum but i dont know exactly where

  • it's small hole right at the end of the intake manifold next to first chamber near the front. The vacuum line goes to one of the sensors. The hole is part of the manifold cast.

  • Actually I'm pretty sure it's for the diverter valve. I have the exact same engine in my '99 Passat.

  • Where exactly did you put that hose??

  • it's where one of the vauum hoses attaches to.

  • Your suppose to choke the engine at the very end of what you had left in the cup... in other words your suppose to drown the engine through seafoam not turn off the motor manually!

  • yeh I've been doing it like that for other ppl now but by no means do you *have* to. It's still cleaning it.

  • crazy?!

  • what deos seafoam do

  • cleans the motor from carbon build up

  • SEAFOAM IN AN AUDI UR ASKING FOR SENSOR TROUBLE ARNT U AND U DONT SEA FOAM A CAR UNDER 100,000 miles its for older cars who have had bad history

  • dude, I know every part on that car....besides it has over 130k on it when I did this. You obviously don't know what you are talking about because if you see where I'm putting it, it never goes through any sensors there...come on man.

    whats seafoam?

    ------------------

It's when you waist money on a product that doesn't do anything but make clouds of smoke! Ask any master mechanic what they think of seafoaming!!

  • WTF??????

  • you're supposed to run it until the thick smoke stops.

  • whats seafoam?

  • does the care really works better after that?

  • I've never seen my mother with a more concerned face when I seafoamed my A4 haha. and yes, the red flag on the 1.8t is the 01.5 model with 170hp, K03s turbo opposed to K03 in the previous B5's

  • I'm looking forward to it. Why do people put such bollocks (shit) on here?

  • yes

  • seafoam in your turbocharger? is that even good for the turbo. ive used it on an n/a car before but i dont know how it would affect the turbo..

  • I didn't hook it up to the turbo. I fed it through the intake manifold.

  • yes i know but the exhaust gasses run through the turbine part of the turbo after they exit the combustion chamber meaning seafoam goes through there if it is burning inside of your engine along with fuel.

  • lol dude, that thing almost cut out. You're supposed to REV it when you seafoam it!

  • hwats the hp of a stock audi a4 1.8t?

  • stock on a '01 a4 1.8t is 170hp. The earlier 90's models are about 150hp.

  • thats not that good. but its mad light so then it kinda is good right? is it fast off the line?

  • Wrong, its 163hp after 2001

  • 170

  • There are 2 kinds, 1.8T is 150bhp and the other is a 180bhp the way to tell is if you have a red T on the boot then you have the 180bhp version, if its just silver then its a 150bhp either way they are pretty week agains the 2.8 V6 model

  • UK to USA translation of boot: trunk not shift boot if you thought that haha

  • the 2.8 V6 blows.

  • You can extract quite a bit of power out of the turbo models with a chip, but personally I'd say swap in a newer Ko3s or a Ko4 turbo.

  • actually, the way to tell is where the 1.8T is located. If its high on the back then its the 150bhp, if its lower on the trunk and larger decals then its teh 180bhp

  • Actually the 150 hp '00 A4 had the decals on the trunk too. You can tell which A4's had the upgraded engine by the "T" in 1.8T being red or having a little red triangle next to it.

  • Well thats weird cause mine doesn't have the red triangle next to the "T" which i took off, and yet on a dyno it has 182 hp weird turns out your logic is, well wrong

  • Well thats weird cause mine doesn't have the red triangle next to the "T" which i took off, and yet on a dyno it has 182 hp weird turns out your logic is, well wrong

  • no his logic is correct with the red flag. you have A) never dynoed your car B) have some upgrades or C) your a jack ass

  • you are an idiot enough said

  • i agree wit u

  • @Hairykrak wrong, the v6 is less powerful.

  • Sea Foam awesome!! Hey buy a A4 and a APR chip, bumps you up to 200hp, and 246 torque, wakes the car right up I love my 99 Avant, Seafoam, some day every5,ooo, I just did it to mu honda at 100,000 for the first time, wow great results! More throttle response, better MPG!

  • I can't recommend it enough.

  • nice car, i too have an 01 a4. where did u connect the suction tube to?? the intake manifold bung?

  • nice car yor a4 power fuul!! me on ist a4 1.8t 150hp 98/99

  • thx mate!

  • whot is seafoam?

  • Seafoam is a powerful engine cleaner that you can use through the manifold, like in this video, or through your crankcase, or fuel. After I did this there was an instant noticeable increase in performance and response and my gas mileage went up. Google it for more info.

  • does this help prevent sludge and gunk from building up? im assuming its kinda like a fuel additive??

  • Yes, you can use regularly to prevent buildups or just use it once or twice to clean. Much more effective than most fuel additives. Not to mention fuel additives only go through your fuel system. This stuff can be used in the crankcase as well. It lightened up the dark buildup that can be seen under the oil cap. This was the first time I used it but I will probably do the whole process one more time just before my next oil change.

  • thanks for the info! do you perform this at a certain mileage or did you notice poor fuel mileage or something? just wondering because im looking into purchasing an older model A4!

  • This was the first time using after I did a ton of research. I decided to do it because I have 159k miles on my 2001.5 A4. My gas mileage was ok but it was better after the seafoam. Smoother idles, acceleration, and overall performance. I would suggest doing it on any car with at least 60k. You may not notice a big difference if your engine is still pretty clean and doesn't have build ups.

  • where did u get it?

  • AutoZone sells it at about 7 dollars a can. You can also get the spray nozzle "Deep Creep" stuff (whatever they call it), it sprays like WD40, but I don't think that can contains as much and isn't as fun. =)

  • i used the spray can today on my ford because autozone didn't have the bottle and i sprayed some into the intake and the rest into the crankcase and fuel but nothing happened at all no smoke just nothing. it has like 156,000 miles on it and nothin happened. i guess i'll try it again tomorrow with the bottle.
