  • I love this guy, dunno why (maybe cuz he's english) and I love his accent xD

  • Seems like a kinda fake accent...

  • you are so cool looking ;]

  • LOL

  • dude this guy is awesome plus he reminds me of that british guy from Forgetting Sarah Marshall

  • Dude ur awesome! defnly checkin out ur videos mate!

  • is it me or is he holding the guitar wrongly?

  • errr he is holding it in a rite way

  • What do you mean?

  • because the thumb touches the fretboard...

  • He just has long fingers and it doesn't have another place to go or he just likes to play that way. I often, when playing barre chords, barre the E and A strings with my thumb making it easier to change eg. E and A shape barre chords to add9's or 9's or 11's or anything without changing position (:

  • This is amazing..

  • what a neat technique...going to try to chop a little :)

  • Really excellent teaching. If half the teachers (video and in person) did it as well as you do, we all would find it easier to learn.

    Thanks

  • Brilliant Teaching !!! Keep it that way mate

  • I know....but what do we have to do with that....He teaches well.....

  • Definitely one of the better guitar teachers on youtube. Clear instructions without excessive talking and anecdotes - just the straight scoop on how to do it! Tab and guitar fret pictures an added bonus. Thanks!

    btw, accent is bristolian maybe?

  • Bristol...that's a town in Wales isn't it?

    waaaaaaaaaaaaay

some west country banter always goes down well with my bristolean roomiex

  • i play the G - accord like a G6, so, without the 3th and 4th finger, its fine when your a beginner..

p.s. your accent is amazing, new zeeland?

  • nah.. british!

  • Thanks Ben, learnt a strumming pattern. you're a cool teacher. 10/10

  • <3 1:21 to 1:36

  • This lesson is really great. This teacher talks smoothly and understandable. He doesn´t need to show off his skills every third second that most of the online guitar teachers do. He really showed everything precise as well. Great video.

  • Excellent lesson method! Much appreciated!

  • hes from the south of england, from the accent

  • hahahah, is that a new zeland accent or someting? i dont know if outside of a textbook i've ever heard the term plecktrum. awesome.

  • umm, maybe english? idk but its definatly not nz.

  • Thanks! This lesson is great. Easy to learn and fun too!

  • haha thxn man :D

  • wat kind of guitar is that

  • hmm looks alot like one of my esp's but im not sure.

  • I think that is a copy of paul reed smith ;)

  • what guitar is that?

  • his hair rocks

  • good lesson 5/5

  • haha my fingers hurt :D started today yehaaw

  • His accent is from Bristol/Cornwell England

  • me fascinan!!!

    e aprendido bastante contigo

yo soy de chile!!y me gusto much

  • im learnjing now, sorry my newbie question but this lesson give a litle help for classic guitar too?

  • Thank you!! You're so nice, cutie!

  • That voice sounds furmilure... Seduction dude???

  • dude u rock thanks so much

  • for g u need 3 fingers only.5th string is open

  • actually, there are two or three fingerings for G.. and two of them are 320033 and 320003, there's a minor difference in sound but both are G major.

  • in this video im pretty sure he is playing the g5

  • G5 just has the notes G and D.

    He's playing the B note on the 5th string, 2nd fret, and so it's a G chord with the notes G B and D.

  • If the 5th string is open and the rest of what he did is the same, then that is Gsus2.

If the 2nd string is open and the rest of what he did is the same, then that is still G.

  • How do you teach yourself to hear strumming patterns? I want to play "Suspended from Class" by Camera Obscura, which should be super easy as it is just A, D, and E, but I can't hear the strumming pattern so even when I get the chords right, it doesn't sound real... Help please :)

  • welcometopemerley: I just listen to the song over and over again. It get's really annoying, however, well people don't pay that much attention to a song. A LOT of people just go "oh that's good enough I'll just quit", and it sounds terrible... Gah that makes me mad. Just listen to the song very closely a few times, and you should be able to get it! Experiment a bit, you'll never learn it if you don't screw around every once in a while =D (sorry for the rant lol)

  • legal cara um abraço,assista meus videos(mauro arruda)abraços

  • Yo I can do the chop motion, but I don't get it to the right chop sound, but I got a small sound thing for my guitar :P, but I have 2 sounds for it: clean and grunch, and I can't put the sound at max cuz im at home here, u know why I don't get the chop sound?

  • how much do the strings cost

i alreadyroke to and i got it like 2 days ago:P

but this guys the best!! bestt teacher ever!!

  • Strings are cheap. About $8 or so, sometimes less.

  • Hehe, the first time I tried to chop, I broke my strings.

  • LOLOLOL :P geez i better be careful! :)

  • awsome guitar teacher, awsome accent.

cant w8 till i can shred some serious rock riffs =P

  • Damn just got my electic guitar yesterday, best teacher for shure.

  • man best friggin teacher on youtube...i have learned a lot from this dude

    plus nice accent lol

  • hey. im a beginner at guitar here. i was wondering should i start with acoustic or electric guitar?

  • acoustic its an easy cheap option to start with

  • Depends on the type of music you want to play, really.

  • I started with an acoustic guitar and found that it made me a stronger electic guitar player. Acoustic will help you build strength in your hands improve basic skills like rythm and chord progressinons.

  • acoustic. I started with electric... but i agree with the previous post..it will make ya an even better electric player, if u start with an acoustic. you'll be amazed at how much "finger strength" you gain by playing an acoustic. You really gotta press the strings in order to hear a nice uniform sound...

  • There are pros and cons for both... with an acoustic, your guitar is a lot more portable (since you don't require electricity); and with an electric there are a lot of cool sounds you can make that you can't make with an acoustic. BUT you can basically play most if not all song on either... so really it's what works best for you.

  • You forgot Semi Acoustic (AKA acoustic electric) There like the best of both worlds lol

  • good teacher!you explain all the stuff very good!thx!(youre very friendlyxD)

  • you're an awesome teacher

  • hmmm... i wonder what your definition of cool is.....retard

  • wow thank you vey much.!

you are the best teacher i meet .!

you really nice man and i very like you.

    thank you soo much.!

  • is a chop possible on an acoustic??

    heehee but thanks for teaching!

  • yup..almost anything is god on a acoustic...i preffer acoustic..but the eletric is a touch

  • Wow, these are great lessons and you are a great teacher. I would gladly pay for these if I knew you.

  • i love your lessons their easy to understand

  • Your lessons are good for the most part, but I just can't do Chords on my guitar no matter how hard I try they never come out right. I think the guitar I have is too big or small, I'm not sure... My amplifier doesn't have distortion either. :-(

  • nice guy,brilliant teacher,great vid,thanks

  • OH~

    YOU TEACH SO GOOD~

you make me feel more understanding~
