@BoxRoomStudio The screen isn't fixed in that bent position permanantly. this screen can or will be able to bend, roll up like a newspaper, and conform to nonflat surface shapes (think of the applications) whilst displaying images or videos. You can't tell because the screen is in a plasitic housing but it is really really thin.. something like a laminated piece of thick cardboard paper.
buddy look around...the us fell way behind. car industry electronics...all has been taken over by japanese companies.
dont get upset with me saying that. its sad and a bit unpatriotic but this country is a few steps behind on what we call latest and greatest. for the future i cant speak...but for now its barely keeping up when it comes to some key things.
in all fairness i dont think it would matter whose leading if we were more geared towards helping each other. sadly thats not the case
@alextheromanian This particular Amoled display is Korean... not Japanese. Korea is ahead of Japan in terms of cell phone technology. LG and Samsung are Korean companies.
@Anothercoilgun well, america still has the lead in baseline science, but when it comes to their application to practical technology, japan, korea, and germany seem to have the lead.

what really is funny is you would be hard pressed to see a bendable display on display that did not have any dead lines or strange defects :P
