Is that not a "rev start" peice of track? You put the cars on rollers and rev them. Theres some special oil that burns up and makes smoke come out of the track. Google it.

Note: its not the tires or engine smoking.

No it wasnt it was the track they you can get special parts that burn oil to make smoke to make it look like the car is doing a burnout...

Actually it's neither. It's a special track which allows that to happen.

WOW?, it just a bit of Sclextric track from the 70's/80's with the same oil being heated by an element that Hornby put in their railway loco's to make smoke......

As to getting the car to actually start moving, now that did make me larf, especially the loud thud at the first corner

I had one of these when I was a kid, they are cool for effect.

If I remember right, theres a button that you are supposed to pull back, this drops the 'rollers' on the track and puts them into a stationary position.

The cars then get grip and set off at the same time. It's pretty good not just for the smoke effect but to ensure no one gets a head start!
