He didn't kill himself. Ok heres how it goes.

The guy suffers from cancer. He knew his time would come, so before it happens, he brought his girl to all the places they went before once again, to relive the memory one last time.

He then told her that he had to study abroad for a very long time. But in actual, he wanted the girl to forget him. She never realized this until he passed away, when his diary was mailed to her. Only did she found out about his reason for leaving.
