I just wanna straighten things out and emphazise that IMHO Shady J is a decent SFIV player per se. It's just sad he relies on Sagat so much.

somebody said it's quite possible to beat a good Sagat "if you are a really good player" meaning you should stop whining and practice harder... I suppose this is true for the part of training to get better... but in tournaments on the other hand the problem is, that people with less skill play Sagat and win. So the results are distorted. If all good players switched Sagat on the other hand, it would be more balanced, but boring as poop.

Yeah well that's the case with every game though. There is always a 'noob friendly' character, weapon, etc. I just hate how everyone calls it cheap just because they lose to it. Sagat may be high tier but he's definitely beatable.

Nothing cheap about any player that goes out and fights using an assortment of moves. Now the Sagat players who just just spam tiger shots and wait for an anti air moves are ones i consider cheap...

Honestly if you can't beat Sagat with Akuma (possibly one of Sagat's more troublesome match ups) then you aren't really good with Akuma. Akuma is one of the few characters that can out zone Sagat which forces him to play more aggressive. At that point Akuma can overwhelm Sagat with shear speed.

I am not saying that Akuma owns Sagat, but that Akuma can easily go toe to toe with Sagat.

It's really a shame to see that Akuma player work his ass off in the last round to get him down to low health, only to be hit by a combo and a tiger upper and lose...but that's Sagat for you. room for 1000 mistakes and he only needs to punish 1 or 2.

I hate how everyone always jumps on the "fuck Sagat" Bandwagon more than ever now. If you cant beat Sagats then you cant play this game properly. Just be thankful he's not as overpowered as O.Sagat or 3rd Strike Chun.

Honestly when I look at the best players in the world I see Ryu(Daigo and Pongko), Rufus(J. Wong and Kindevu), and Akuma(Momochi).

There are a lot of Sagat players such as Mago, but generally I don't see Sagat win as much as the hype around him suggests. He is just fine. Hell Metaknight is even more unbalanced in Brawl than Sagat is in SF4.

Lets be realistic about Sagats strength here; coz although those who consider him broken are overrating him, he is absolutely the strongest.

Mago has been number 1 beyond Daigo for a few months now, and the top 50 ranks in Japan have been dominated consistenly by Sagat players since day one.

About 19 top 50 Sagat players last time I checked, which is monsterous. Second to that were Ryu players with a measly 6.

I know which list you are taking that from. That is of course in arcade BP. Also some players are counted twice so it is not the most accurate list. For instance Kindevu is counted twice for his Rufus(#11) and Viper(#17).

When we look at the top 20 we see a decent amount of Sagats, but the top is largely filled with a mix of other characters like Akuma, Ryu, Viper, Rufus, Abel, Chun Li. So from what I see, Sagat does not dominate in the way many would love to believe.

That Akuma was a little scrubby, particularly in that last round. He had a 70% lead and he was still blindly aggressive, hence why Shady J punished him for being foolish.

When you have such a lead, there is nothing stopping you from turtling.
