@Recedite Brendon's family is not broken, he has his mother Paula for a role model and a very positive one at that, and of course his father figure would be Coach Mcguirk. I think you want to see a "gut-wrenching tragedy about a broken family and a lost son" where theres none.

Wow...Brendon's face when he's talking to McGuirk about his dad is kinda depressing. ;.; I relate a lot to Brendon's relationship with his dad, since my mother left me for almost thirteen years and the topic was sort of sensitive for me. Recently saw her last month and the funny thing is there was no resentment or any weird catharctic atrophy. Just that friendly albeit gaurded awkwardness that gave way to a friendship. It's true what they say. Art mimics life.
