  • 4:48 sounds simply amazing!! Incredible Satriani!!

  • Hi my friends! check out my cover for this song here! /watch?v=ivnVAsPp6fY It helps alot if you leave feedback!!

  • BLUE IS THE COLOR

  • I love the dancing bear on the bass ;)

  • I have never grown tired of this song. I remember when it came out......Jaw dropping!

  • What does he have his guitar tuned to? That's not EADGBE.

  • @MrSamBowers The rhythm guitar does sound like an alternate tuning. Pretty sure Joe is playing in standard tuning.

  • Joe is simply the greatest ever.. so much emotion and total control.. precision and flash at its best.. I wish I could be that good at ANYTHING just for one day in my life

  • @RobMendell - Took the words right out my mouth man haha!

  • satch is satch, vai is vai, hendrix is hendrix. no need to say who's the best just that they gave us their take on the guitar.

  • @Mrsamlki know he has a special gift that malmsteen , vai , becker doesnt have even though they are exelent guitar players

  • @ivanblackheart +1. vai is trash compared to him when it comes to writing ability, I don't care if he may be "technically better," which is debatable anyway, satch is just better. And don't even mention malmsteen

  • maybe there are guitarist fasters than satch but nobody can play with this feeling..he is the best..the master of masters.

  • This is fuckin sick. Unbelievable what he can do with a guitar!

  • he sort of looks like agent 47 but playing the guitar

  • One of the best!

  • watch?v=zQ2BZ_sJjc0&feature=channel_video_title

  • So i'm still trying to figure this one out.. I don't own the CD so I can't look at the composers info..but did eric johnson compose this one for satch to play?? either way this is such a killer tune.. I cant wait for the next G3 dvd to come out!

  • Just Amazing! Thankyou!

  • he is from another planet,he even looks like a damn martian ;D

  • AMAZING

  • I swear one would think Joe had multiple orgasms..

long live the Satch, thanks for all the inspiration!

and props for proving that a high talented and famous person can be humble , passionate, and friendly at the same time!

keep bending :) you have bent so many souls, you have no idea :)

  • @Pierceher he probably does have big Os!! while playing ....

  • @shaikhymx

there's a kind of mental ecstasy from music, that shares some qualities with a sexual climax -- but easier to get, and lasts longer - that would be Satriani's effect on most people

  • @SupernalOne ..I watched some musicians going in total ecstasy just by playing their instrument of choice -no pun intended!!-....and most of them agree...playing music can do that to you,

  • @shaikhymx

yes, music is an emotion-generator -- no wonder folks love it

  • @Pierceher

    ;=D

u couldnt say it bttr mate

positive energy to u n ur music...u play too isnt it...

  • 21 people were flying in a wet dream.

  • Man, do I love artful guitar feedback!

  • Amazing Guitar true talent. Good to see Stuart Hamm on the bass he is truly amazing, people check him out.

  • Is this how it feels to chew 5 gum?

  • @GreatestSoloEver Thats funny as fuck! They definitely need to make that commercial!

  • take off joe .....into outer fuckin space. you fuckin rock....

  • ...one of the best songs from Joe - thx...;-)

  • Best ever <3

  • allways when I listen this song, bristling hair, hair-raising..... this is the maximus.

  • Looks like the continued chronicles of Riddick, wherein he parlays his absolute leadership of the Necromonger faith into a kick-ass career in music, as one slick sick axeman, slaying 'em in their seats - :)

  • most extremely cool!

  • The beginning reminds me of foreplay longtime by Boston for some reason. Epic masterpiece. Love Satch.

  • Joe satriani: the only married man who can pull off leather pants and a turtle neck with style.

  • @jakeinoblivion666 Just goes to show you-----when you are a guitar GOD you can wear whatever you want and nobody will notice or even care!

    LET 'ER RIP, SATCH!

  • @jakeinoblivion666 It's like David Gilmour in his blue jeans and Tee-shirt----changing rock history any time he even LOOKS at a stratocaster! 10 minutes earlier, he could have been changing the oil in his station wagon!

  • Ave Satriani!

  • really xxx

  • EL MEJOR ... Right here, right now! ♥ Liberty ☼ Libertad ♫

  • Of course he owns steve vai he taught steve how to play

  • lol another king of guitar, so if Edward is not the king maybe he is the emperor...?

I joke, love you so much Joe, extraordinary musician and innovative creator

  • amazing

  • He OWNS Vai!!!!

  • I believe Vinnie Moore was the first to sweep pick but correct me if i'm wrong

  • more like Joe Satriani is the king of putting sound in the things we call ears

  • Joe is the absolute king of melody on the guitar. Some are faster, like Paul, but satch is the best.In my opinion.Just listen to The bells of lal.

  • Yea...thank You...just could'nt switch..he he !...1 for my AmericanA Channel...

  • Blue, green ,red, orange, black,.the dream is satriani! no one alive can bring forth so much emotion from this thing we call an ax.

  • Joe Satriani is what GOD would sound like if he played guitar!... ive loved this man and his music since before he went bald lol...i still have all the old cassettes and posters :) LONG LIVE SATRIANI!!

  • Joe Satriani is what GOD would sound like if he played guitar!... ive loved this man and his music since before he went bald lol...i still have all the old cassettes and posters :) LONG LIVE SATRIANI!!

  • very nice!!

  • he looks like an alien ...

  • @egbt4 I think thats no accident.

  • 6:23 he has his face saying 'fuck I am amazing' and he's right

  • Happy birthday to Joe satriani -July 15..

    your fan

    Ben..

  • BAD SOUND - PLEASE, DELETE THIS VIDEO

  • I dont think its hard to say that this man is a guitar legend! He learned to play guitar from Jesus and The Devil themselves. Thumbs Up if you agree with me!

  • FANTASTIC!!

  • Most Melodic and technical guitarist ive ever seen in my whole life.

Satriani plays guitar like hes breathing it . .

  • Love this guy's guitar playing, love is music and I love everything that makes the outstanding music maker he was and still is. Long live JS, he is a six string demond. Brilliant song to.

  • Super brutallllllllllllll, GRANDE REY DE LA GUITARRA FLYING BLUES

  • mind = blown

  • Why is the audio all messed up?

  • the king in action..the best..

  • Some people would stand still at a concert like Satriani or Vai, I myself would be flabbergasted at the concerts. Their sheer amazing skills at guitar would turn my into a mindless zombie or something, until they stop of course

  • who did this song first, joe or steve vai?

  • @Nicko1555 All Joe Mang ;) OG master right there AND my first concert back when I was 8. Can't wait to meet him

Check out my group, not quite Satch but you might dig

  • Woa - great - thx.. ;-)

  • such a beautiful song,Satch!!!

  • :D. 6:22 I stick my tongue out when i play too

  • good stuff good tune.

  • I get chills every time I hear this. Just epic...

  • God, he's just awesome.

  • Lets face it no one plays like Joe and no one ever will.He is in a class by himself.Steve Vai said he is the greatest guitarist of this generation and he speaks the truth. He is the Jimi Hendrix of miy generation.

  • @eightysjay they both have different styles though

  • Wise words from u and steve ;)

  • he is able to produce such sustain because he has a continuous feedback switch on his guitar(no i don't mean his pickup selectors). if you look closely you can see it, its a simple on off switch, he has it mostly on

  • @zigfr33 Or because he maps out harmonics during soundcheck

  • Joe has amazing properties, while I listen to his work I can focus, even while drunk off my ass

  • Mate, your comment is too cool !

  • It's all about the gear-BUT...No-one plays like joe-You can buy his JS signature series amps and guitars-But you CAN'T BUY HIS FINGERS!!!!

  • @wavular

More like , "You can't buy his soul"

The fingers are just a tool for the mind.

    And he's a true genius.

  • I saw him in Milwaukee at the Pabst Theater-everybody got up and screamed during the intro to this tune-really. The master of rock guitar-period. He is to rock guitar what Mozart was to the piano.

  • it's a good thing he never played on stage with Hendrix. i dont think the universe can take another Big Bang

  • @itsthunderkid HE ALREADY PRACTICALLY BLOWS MY HEAD OFF!

  • @itsthunderkid you could already hear the universe cracking at G3 0_o

  • @itsthunderkid But he played along Petrucci and Malmsteen, which was very, very close on creating another one.

  • @itsthunderkid Not really, Hendrix was inspirational, but he wasnt that fantastic of a guitarist.

  • @yishto

your opinion. in my mind i have rarely seen a musician that puts as much coolniss and emotion in his playing besides from hendrix.

  • i love this song ,joe the tone king satriani tearin it up on the crome boy, keep on rockin man.

  • That song is an orgasm! Satch is a Master!

  • damn. someone tell me how he gets that amazing sustain!

  • it's due to the guitar ,and the amp,The js signature series.

  • Though he can clearly shred with the best of them he never over plays

  • This tune just rocks! Satriani is a virtuoso. Just love the improvisation at the end of the arrangement.

  • srry i meant vai n sat both :-p

  • i couldnt even be able to think about pickin up a guitar and having that sound come from my fingers.......entirely too good

  • This tune just blows me away! Period!

  • What sustain!!!!

  • He must blow you away when he plays live. He is the best guitar player ever!!!!! hail the king!!!!!!!

  • @bluejuicesurfing the best is relative, but the best playing live of course it's obvious

  • @bluejuicesurfing OH YEAH!

  • @bluejuicesurfing yes he does blow you away. especially when you consider that he does it for 2 1/2 hours...flawlessly.

  • @bluejuicesurfing o trust me he does!!!!!

  • @bluejuicesurfing I dont knowwwww that vai character is guite the Guitarrrr (emphasis on gIY in Giytar) player

  • @bluejuicesurfing he has such a clean live sound. I saw him in Toronto about 15 years ago at the RPM Warehouse. and it was not deafeningly loud but what a clean sound, and smooth playing, the band was tight as O.J's glove. LOL

  • Saw him with Brian May in Barcelona few years back - supreme master of the guitar!

  • Satriani is Master !

  • Very talented guy, at 5:10 he really burns it up!

  • More like 5:11

  • inhuman

  • alien!

  • Satriani is a Master,love this song!

  • Amazing!!

  • im kind of able to get that feedback but when i pull the whammy bar to far it goes :(

  • @ItzRainingSkittles Only in your mind my very young apprentice

  • OMG...this is epic....but how da hell does he get all this sustain???

  • @TheUnforgivenGenius

    quality gear

  • Till now I thought I had something that could be called quality... :D Now, I'm doubting it :D

  • @TheUnforgivenGenius

He's got special type of pickups- sustain pickups : ) read about it .

  • heheheh LOL shit that was so funny FUck you

  • hes more like vin diesel, or voldemort

  • I watch and listen to this man alive in Belgrade 2 years ago..He is Wizard with Guitar..Amazing night..5

  • yOUR FUCKIN goooooooddddddddddddd

  • One thing I never see Satriani do is... sweep pick. Who started that stuff anyway?

  • Yeah, he's not a big fan of doing it. He does some stuff in Mind Storm and the outro to Potato Head on the Satriani live DVD, but usually when he does sweep they're pretty unconventional or more like half-rakes.

There's probably earlier examples, but Blackmore's outro solo to Deep Purple's April is the earliest thing I've personally heard that has sweep picking, but I think Malmsteen and the neoclassical metal movement really popularized it. It's been used commonly in Jazz guitar earlier, though

  • mmmm. cool thanks :D

  • yeah it was in jazz music for a long time and i think he didnt do it bec/ it just doesnt seem like something satriana style just the way he plays hes not super modern more blues based

  • I don't know if it was before Blackmore but there's a video of Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed doing "Jerry's Breakdown" from 1977 and Chet sweep picks with a thumb pick in it. It's pretty cool.

  • cant forget the song crushing day fast solo sweep :P

  • He does some insane sweep picking in the Crushing day...

  • I think Chet Atkins was one of the first to sweep... =)

  • @Mapon123 Crushing day,Mystical Potato,Mind storm,Power cosmic bla bla bla :D

  • @Mapon123 i think people just call it sweep picking but notes arrangement-wise it all started with classical music.

  • @Mapon123 hey man :] if you want to see him sweep (this is the only vid and ive seen this live hes done) its crazy cool tho XD hxxp://xxx.youtube.xxx/watch?v=vY8lYnjoEXk and seed it up to 3:10 but i just suggest to watch it all its so damn good video :}

  • @Mapon123 He does sweep picking in the song "Crushing Day". The first guy that i saw do sweep picking was Chet Atkins in the duet "Jerrys Breakdown" with jerry reed, check it up

  • oh i love that big legato run at 2:07 . That is flying

  • Wow what a great ending to an amazing song.

  • lol he looks like riddick!

    one of my favorite songs!!!

  • only not on steroids

  • Can all the necromongers play guitar like this?

  • no riddick looks like him

  • yh your right what am I saying lol ;-)

  • the planets put out their own pulsing wavering radio transmissions, from their magnetic fields as they rotate - each planet has a different sound -- the opening feedback sounds a lot like Earth -

  • you think that feedback sound is Earth sound?

  • uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh great final!

  • amazing.... doctor evil from austin power lol

  • By far his best album imho.

  • i knew this would be a great one when i saw the thumbnail.

  • wat a beautiful song puts me in a good mood
