I have always enjoyed him so much, but I have never seen him so animated! This is GREAT!!!! I'm with whoever it was that said they couldn't se how that church could still have people in their seats! Wonderful! Thank you Hoover, and keep up the great thing you do here!

Thanks Hoover LOVE this song. Do you know what if any church he was raised in. Not that it matters, accepting Jesus is all it takes. It's just like he sounds like a good old Church of God Cleveland, Tenn guy.

I seen Him perform this live like 10 years ago and never forgot it. It was AMAZING!!!!!!! I would completely love to see it again!!!! Absolutely fabulous!
I saw Russ do this several years ago here in Long Beach California and he came into the crowd and jumped up on a chair and when he did he almost lost his footing and almost fell.. but never missed a beat while singing... You hav to love Russ Taff.
what gaither dvd is this on, got to have it. Have seen it before, but always ready to see it again. I agree with you mjsmaling, don't know how anyone was still sitting
I used Russ Taff' music to train for the Olympic Games in 1988.....
What soul....what soul.....love him....
Would really love to get him to open for Lifehouse in a different venue, where people would just unleash their passion for Jesus and his music.....AMEN???
I saw RT at Winter Jam a few years ago with the Newsboys and New Song, He stole the show with this one. He jumps from the stage on to a monitor then disappeared then the spot light picked him up in the upper level of the coliseum then he ran back to the stage and finished the song. People were rolling on the floor!
I saw Russ for the first time in Columbia SC. at a Billy Graham crusade, the whole place was up on their feet. He really should go on last because the rest of the singing was not close to what he did there that day. Love Russ and that song!
We have just had the pleasure of Russ Taff preaching & singing at our Baptist Church in Basildon,Essex. How wonderfull that such a well known, in the U.S., singer would accept our invite to sing & preach at our church. Great to see him, hear him sing, & to hear his message, that Jesus loves us. Amen.
Like most American Gospel artists Gaither concerts have a habit of using playback music, while mixing it up with a single guitar and drums.- I've had the privilege of listening to Russ Taff live, and he is a fantastic artist. - As the crowd, I would also be sitting down at that performance. God Bless him though :)
@mjsmaling Some of them were looking at him like he's was nuts but, I'd say here was drunk on the annointing ogf His Holy Spirit. I just wish I had more of that boldness! Praise God,Jesus is Lord! I love where Bill says at the end,"Why not?" Why not indeed. Thanks Hoover4000!
I keep coming back here to listen to this and it is just so encouraging each time. I love how he just gets right into the Holy Spirit, let's Him take control and just goes! Russ, doesn't care what those people are thinking about him, he is worshiping the Lord! Hallelujah! I'm so glad Russ does this! And I'm so happy I'm Pentecostal! :O)
For those who haven't heard Russ B4, he has 4 grammys - 3 from a fantastic group from the 70's and 80's called "The Imperials" and 2 as a solo artist. He's been through a lot, but gives God all glory. I loved the Imperials 30 yrs ago.
Agreed re Water Grave. No song written to date can top that one, as far as I'm concerned.....grabs you from the first line....."In my house there's been a mercy killing.....Chillbumps every time I listen to it. I truly believe that the HS sings through Russ Taff!
This was funny. I never heard of this singer but, he woke them up from their slumber. Looks like most were planning on where they were gonna meet for lunch after the service! hahahahahaha!!! Church is suppose to be an event where you learn how to become closer to God not sleep.
Russ knows what time it is. That was an awesome performance. When I first heard this song on The Apostle soundtrack, I fell in love with this song. Awesome. \m/
Russ is the real deal. You can tell some of the Gaither crowd (the singers not just the audience) were somewhat stunned by this performance. Even old Jesse Dixon looks dumbfounded! Russ likes to push it to the edge. What a great song!
I meet Russ @ a New Life For Youth Service In Richmond Va in 2007,along with Nicky Cruz. They where awesome.I believe Russ is a Graduate of their addiction program in Beaverdam Va.
holy crap. this sounds nothing like of what a choir at my school sang. that was not close to country. they were amazing and sounded nothing like it. but this is really good too.
Thats our hope and our future, no grave no death, no darkness no devil, only LIFE Life in Jesus forever and ever. We will be changed in a moment, corruptable for incorruptable. Death we make fun of you- where`s you sting? Your victory? It is finished and just began. Our life is Jesus and He is our resurection.
Come Lord Jesus and take us Home.. Life is meant for You and You are our destiny. Do it Lord..No Grave.. Come up here my Bride and enter your prepared from the beginning your eternal HOME
Russ is, hands down, one of the greatest singers of all time. I have seen him live several times and he's amazing. His "Russ Taff" Debut album in the 80's is still one of the best ever. It's a shame his secular music career was not better supported by his so-called "fans". It's a shame to deprive a wider audience from that voice!! And all of these comments from someone who considers herself an atheist!!! Russ is just simply the BEST! Thanks for years of joy Russ!
Russ Taff is one of the best singers in the world of ANY type of music. His debut "Russ Taff" album in the 80's is still one of my favorites of all time. To see him live is unbelievable! And all of these comments from someone who considers herself an atheist. But he is, imho, one of the greatest singers anywhere. I find it shame that his secular music career was not supported by his so-called "fans". It's a shame to deprive a larger audience of his talents! Thanks Russ for years of joy.
aint it great that this is not just fiction? but reality? the man who wrote this was a very influential in the pentecostal holiness movement.. of which I am glad to say Im part of! Bro. Claude Ely
I agree, I am also very glad to say I'm part of the Pentecostal Holiness movement, while I'm too young to have been personally influenced by Bro. Claude Ely; I've have heard the stories of people who have been. I am glad that this is reality and I am extremely proud of my heritage!
I saw Russ this past Saturday night in Shreveport Louisiana,Ive been a huge fan for years, but to see/hear him in person was amazing.Trust me,he is the real deal.
russ i want you to beleive there is no grave that could your body down you really sing this song under one heavy anointing keep it upt you are blessing souls all over the world even here in this lovely bahamas islands am bless just listening to this songs. thank you russ.
i to join in with others giving god hanks for russ taff. this is my first time listening to russ, he has a strong anointing on him , keep it russ god bless your soul
Knowing how far this man has come in his personal relationship with Jesus Christ makes watching this just all the more inspiring. This is a man who believes and KNOWS who he belongs to - and is rejoicing over it. Bring it Russ!
Just a question, dont take it wrong, but why is it that all the Baptist folk look kinda scared? like "Oh no, there that Pentecostal man going off again!" Lol!
Well let see, does this man of God has what it takes to deliver a Holy Ghost song or what... God Bless brother Russ taff... That I do pray for, this what we'll all experience when God sends his son Jesus to split those eastern skies, and there be no grave that'll hold our bodies down...may God Bless everyone with salvation and hope...
I echo what billygirl said - I've already given directions I want this played at my funeral (hopefully not for a long time unless the Lord calls me home) Dying is a graduation time if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. What fun - great stuff - Russ really enjoys what he does and he does it soooo well :o)
I've always loved this song...I'd want this song sung at my funeral...I want my funeral to be a shout'n Holy Ghost time...I don't want no cryin'cause I'm gonna be in a better place...I'm so glad that Jesus Christ died for me...Amen
i wondered the same thing, me personally i'd be swinging from the ceiling LOL. Maybe it's an irish thing? I dont mean that insutling the irish, me being irish myself. I just mean maybe the beat just threw them back a little or something, I remember when my mom and I first watched this we were a little suprised that the beat was so "hard" but we really liked it.
How those folks can be so reserved while Russ is singing this song is beyond me! The whole "theme" of this song is what Christians are striving for...Thank God for Pentecostal Russ!
Great Video! I've been a fan of Russ' since he sang with the Imperials in the 70's. He made some super solo albums in the 80's. I did not care for his country-flavored works after that, but he is undeniably one of, if not the most powerful singers of Gospel music EVER!
It's a good thing I wasn't there! I would have pulled the rafters down in excitement for my Lord!
God bless you Russ!

Knowing how far this man has come in his personal relationship with Jesus Christ makes watching this just all the more inspiring. This is a man who believes and KNOWS who he belongs to - and is rejoicing over it. Bring it Russ!

What fun - great stuff - Russ really enjoys what he does and he does it soooo well :o)

hoover4000 5 years ago
i wondered the same thing, me personally i'd be swinging from the ceiling LOL. Maybe it's an irish thing? I dont mean that insutling the irish, me being irish myself. I just mean maybe the beat just threw them back a little or something, I remember when my mom and I first watched this we were a little suprised that the beat was so "hard" but we really liked it.
hoover4000 4 years ago
Hehe....Yes its powerful, No offence to Irish but that could be right.

How those folks can be so reserved while Russ is singing this song is beyond me! The whole "theme" of this song is what Christians are striving for...Thank God for Pentecostal Russ!

Russ Taff is AWESOME! such an anointed singer - love all his stuff!

Great Video! I've been a fan of Russ' since he sang with the Imperials in the 70's. He made some super solo albums in the 80's. I did not care for his country-flavored works after that, but he is undeniably one of, if not the most powerful singers of Gospel music EVER!
