  • What did they say at 0:10?

  • @E1craZ4life i think it was "she's in cynthia's room!!"

  • Working 365 days a year- $365

Working 24 hours a day, except for February, which has 28, priceless.

For everything else, there's Abbot and Costello.

  • 365 days in a year = $365.

    Didn't work Sundays; 365 days - 52 Sundays = $313

    Half a day on Saturdays; 313 - 26 Saturdays = $287

    Two-week vacation; 11 days (weekends accounted for) 287 - 11 = $276

    13 holidays off; 276 - 13 = $263

    Worked 8 hours a day; 263 / 3 = $88

    Took an hour a day for lunch; 263 hours total, 263 / 24 = 11 days; 88 - 11 = $77.

So he was supposed to get $77.

  • @Landistus

    Thank you!

  • @djziggurat

I wasn't trying to get all mad but the fact of the matter is that the comment was unnecessary and that it DID hurt my feelings. I'm not going to get mad at you because your RIGHT! I was outta line because i was upset but i wasn't trying to act big, i was trying to make a point. I did no better than the person, it's just that when someone talks to me like that I automatically snap into action and defend myself, but no I'm not going to get furious. So there's my side.

  • @CutifulKaity Its the internet, We are suppose to thank insults! cause they really mean the opposite!

  • You better watch your mouth! Think before you say things cause that was plain RUDE! ALRIGHT?!!? So cool it and BACK OFF! TO mapache11

ps- dont even bother saying anything else ok? And get some manners! Seriously?!

  • @CutifulKaity

You're telling him to cool it, and that he was rude, and yet you do no better. I wouldn't have said anything, but you don't even reply directly to him, and yet act big telling him to not say anything else. Go ahead, get mad and curse me out, I'll have a good time not caring while you get furious.

  • Ha! ha! A classic! i just watched a movie marathon of abbet and costello for new years! Love em'!

  • @CutifulKaity who is "abbet"? You're an insult to your parents and whoever taught you to read.

  • so techinally he worked only 1 day.

  • Minimum wage is 5 dollars if he doesn't get that he can bring his boss or former boss to court

  • 365 days in a year - 52 Sundays = $313.

    313 - 26 Saturdays = $287

    287 - 11-day vacation = $276

    276 - 15 days for lunch = $261

    261 - 13 holidays = $248

    248 / 3 = $83 for a year's work.

  • @E1craZ4life one problem. How is he charged the 15 days for lunch? he only took one hour of lunch out of the 263 days he had after all his days he didnt work. So 263 x 1 hour = 263 hours. Approximately 11 days. You've shorted him 4 dollars.

  • @shamen490 I realized that after posting the comment. So he should've had $87.

  • Tell me again why people work.

  • omg y this is no hd?? omgzzz

  • Hey Skotp69 it's a comedy routine get a life

  • Notice how it's the cunning Jew taking monetary advantage of poor ol' Lou!

  • @SKOTP69 wow gunna bring racist remarks into this arent we well im a jew and proud of it hate us jews all you wunt WE DONT CARE!!!!

  • @xKidChaos ..."racist" is a vague phrase contrived by the tribe (i.e, you proud lot who "don't care"), so as to smear anyone who wakes up to and raises a voice against their machinations in the world, and especially within our societies! Very conveniently ignoring the "chosen people's" very own brand of such! We hate you...because you hate us! Notice the part how you don't actually refute what I originally said, but resort immediately to the kind of evasion techniques you lot are notorious for?!

  • @SKOTP69 it's a freakin' comedy routine

  • @SKOTP69 bad choice of words mate

  • @Cationification No, a completely accurate, correct, totally spot on choice of words!...and I'm not your mate.

  • a big LOL

  • fun!

  • Poor guy

  • your math is a little off, also a dollar a day is 1 dollar for the time you worked, be it 1 hour or 25 hours

  • classic !...i love Buds math, lol

  • costello is one unlucky fellow

  • Comment removed

  • *to get 365 dollars now I only have one

  • Lol I'm supposed

  • ...so....he only worked...oneday? lol

  • Comment removed

  • 69 dollars... WHATS WITH THE BUt lol

  • every day has 24 hours except for February which has 28

  • these two guys are just great,.i watched these as a child growing up and watching them now brings back how much ive missed em.

  • Comment removed

  • I suck at math.....

  • ok im cinfused :(

  • WHATS WITH THE BUTT

  • this is a prime example of abbott being funny... hes more then just a straight man

  • Abbott counted the weekends in the vacations and holidays separately. Also costello was working 8 hours and eating 1 hour so he shouldnt have been counted off for that

  • hey you guys remember the cartoon caracters from looney toons the fat short cat and the tallk skiny cat and the short one allways screaming Babet? lol. these guys i wander if they are the guys who did there voices

  • Poor Lou. Abbott is a horrible boss.

  • What movie is this from?

  • well costello tried to keep some money but abbot kept tugging the proverbial fishhook

  • SEARCH SCHWARTZY AND PAGANA!!! THEY'RE THE SECOND COMMING!!

  • 365

    8 hours a day, 1/3 of a day, he gets 121.

He didn't work Sundays, but since he only worked 1/3 of the days, you take 1/3 of the Sundays. 52/3 = 17

    So he has 104 dollars.

Half a day on saturday, 1/3 of the saturdays is 17, half is 9 (8.5 round up)

So he has 87. 14 day vacation, he loses 14, 73. Lunch, 1 hour a day for the 121 days he worked is 5 days, so 5 dollars. Now he has 68. 13 Holidays is 13 dollars, making him 55.

He got ripped off for 55, poor Costello :(

  • @TraxisOnTheLines 54 $ actually since he got paid 1$

  • @WealthyAffiliateJour No, because the 1$ was what was left over after the other deductions, this is a completely different equation so that extra 1$ has nothing to do with this.

  • @TraxisOnTheLines I was talking about "He got ripped off for 55" ;P You have it right.. I was just being an ass.

  • @TraxisOnTheLines Captain Obvious

  • @TraxisOnTheLines why would you take 1/3 off of Sunday when he didn't work at all ergo he loses 52 not 17 in that regard

  • @nv88 Because you already took off 2/3 of the Sundays when you divided 365 by 3, we don't need to take them off again.

  • @TraxisOnTheLines well I like the correct math BUT (I know it better then you do) 14 day vacation, -2 for sunday 12, and when u have 121 days-13 holidays u get 108 and for the 1 hour u get about 4 dollars, now add the 2 and 1 dollars to the old total of 55 and he should have made $58

  • @TraxisOnTheLines i see the flaw in your math the sundays your saying to deduct 1/3 of the day which means by your math he would pay him 2/3 of the sunday days

  • @TraxisOnTheLines u forgot the 2 week vacation

  • Poor Costello :(

  • lol that's so dirty.

  • LOL, Obamanomics simplified.

  • Costello always has the short end of the straw

  • 5 people got fired

  • my two friends are doing this for my school play

  • after much calculation, i found the the guy worked a full 24 hr day 83 times in that year, and being 1 dollar per 24 hr period, that being the definition of a "day", he is owed 83 dollars.

  • Well, he got hired by screwing with numbers. Serves him right lol

  • Oh yeah, remember those half hour breaks on Friday? That's an additional 8 dollars leaving you owing me 7

  • 5 people got their last dollar swiped

  • My favorite sketch

  • This is why you need 'unions'! Rich business men are doing this now with the help of some dirt bag politicians. e.g. Wisconsin Michigan, who's next?

  • @Comdesron17 Yeah unions are great! Even when you don't want to be in one, you have to pay the dues anyways!

  • @Comdesron17 So you enjoy paying for your neighbor's prostitutes? I am perplexed. Perplexed I am.

  • @Comdesron17 who is not next, who is on first

  • @Comdesron17 This is the kind of things some unions keep trying to get by people so they get the money, instead of the people they "represent"

  • @Comdesron17 the unions seem to be doing this to the workers, not the business, since many ppl have to pay dues they don't want to pay, since the don't want to be in the union. while its not technically a mandate, if u don't pay them, they will get u fired and replace u with someone who will pay them.

  • 3:17 TO 3:21 IS THE BEST

  • 1:30 actually

  • @MasterT12345666 "ya give me 69 dollars is really funny" NOT

  • 1:31 best part

  • "there's 24 hours in a day ALL BUT FEBRUARY which has 28." hahahaha

  • Always great fun! Check out our contemporary version of these guys at oldfartschannel. It's good clean fun.

  • The actual answer to the math problem was $83.66773504

  • @hijunny132 no, its definitely not

  • i love costello's voice when he screams

  • am i the only one that caught him saying february has 28 hours in a day???

  • Only math can put a working man to sleep.

  • I'd love to see these two doing taxes.

  • man Abott is such a cheat!!!

  • The problem is that he took days off such as holidays or that two week vacation which already included the Sundays and Saturdays. So, they counted those more than once.

  • 5 people made 1 dollar

  • this would be what taxs do to you pretty much thank you get a bunch of money back and get little to none back

  • Jeff I don't mind taxes if corporations pay them. Check ENRON and GOOGLE what they have done. Warren Buffet said his secretary paid more taxes than he did.

  • @manyflga thats because Warren Buffett can afford a law firm to squeeze through legal loopholes and get a ton of money out of it. The American people at large cannot.

Progressive income tax needs to be abolished in favor of fair/flat tax

  • @manyflga check how much his secretary's salary is. not the kind of secretary youre thinking of

  • I LIKE THIS! HAHAHAHA!

  • Feel the same way after they take out my taxes and health insurance from my pay check!!!

  • @manyflga I understand, I'm sure you have never used the roads, water, airports or anything else in your life. You should ask for a refund.

  • Absolute total brilliance! The likes of which we will 'probably' never see again!!

  • he should of ended up with more then a dollar he took the Sundays away already and split the Saturdays in half .. there for he should of never lost two dollars for the Sundays or a dollar for the two Saturdays on vacation he should have 4 dollars!!!

  • @greenmole20 and the vacation deduction was 3x more than it should have been.

  • @greenmole20 Shhhh,shhhh...look at it this way, 365 days minus vacations minus lunch breaks minus sundays halved, and then a third of that, equals one. And you shuold probably tip the waiter standing behind you with that one, otherwise I'll remember you owe me a buncha money for the tax deductions that we need to pay.

  • lol funny as f*ck

  • We saw this today in Financial Math class =]

  • Aw, and remember those 2 days you were sick? now we take 2 from 1...and yes, you owe me 1 dollar.

  • @yehuda2000 Oh, and those 2 days :D

  • I would kick abbot's ass after the 2nd but..

  • @Cresitan258 Especially when you consider how significant the money really is. $121 is quite a bit at the time.

  • That's why we get paid by the hour.

  • @Keviarti 9.85/hour :3

  • "WHAT'S WITH THE BUT !"

  • wow...if you think about it, if he paid enough attention to the deductions, he was taking too much from him.

he's giving him 1/3 from a dollar a day but subtracting a full dollar from an hours break. lmao

  • @oliverTwisTeDandCO even though if you paid enough attention, you'd see that his math is total BS, and they all overlap.

    BUT!

It's comedy, so don't worry about the details of the math ;)

  • @dabeast711 lol yea I know. I just like math so I noticed it is all :p

  • @ElWray24 o shit...I'm in my bro's screen name...lol respond to my oliver one if you decide to :p

  • lol

  • poor dude

  • Comment removed

  • "what's with the but" thts hilarious...

  • "aww no abbott, not that. please don't take that away from me. one little hour a day thats all i took, i did'nt eat much." xD

  • haha these guys are funny

  • check this up if you hate the new youtube setup! btw ABBOTT AND COSTELLO ROCK

  • sounds like my old boss!! LOL

  • Is there a website that has the script for this?

  • Sorry,I meant a $1 a year.

  • 1 dollar day means he earns less than $0.0001 each day!!! :( Find a new

job, dude. What does the guy get fired for anyway? (the sound quality is really bad.) :(

  • what a duo,i tell you, nothing like it, i watched them back way when i was 12 years old it was called midday mattine featuering abbot and costello, great comics i say.

  • good memories.

  • Classic Abbott and Costello!! Abbott played the 'straight' man to Costello's comedy PERFECTLY.

  • That was amazing!

  • oh man this is masterful work. fast talking him by counting multiple days ...hilarious :)

  • Wow, he worked a whole year to earn 1 dollar and some random waiter walks by and takes it : (

  • These guys were geniuses at false math.

  • if i get some (sum) of it ill be lucky lmao

  • Genius, but he got ripped off about 4 dollars. ):

They calculated each Sunday and Saturdays and then during the two week vacation, they counted 14days. Meaning they counted the Saturdays and Sundays again!

  • lol you need to recalculate :-)

  • @FrozenDrink do the math, you'll figure out he got cheated out of way more than that.

  • That was the point.

  • Which film is this from?

  • One Night in the Tropics

  • lol 'how many hours are in a day?' '24 except in fefburary there is 28' lol 28 hours in a day in feburary

  • GENIUS

  • 2:28 to the end <3 hahahaha

  • WHATS WITH THE BUT'S?!?! LOL

  • 1 year... 1 dolar:))) LMFAO

  • Lol

  • Genius,just genius lol.

  • poor guy.

  • Genius

  • every time he subtracted he forgot

1.he only workd 1/3 of the day

    2. he didn't even worl the holidays

  • Why yes that IS the premise of the joke!

  • 0:56 LOL wait I just noticed he said there is 28 hours in a day in February xD

  • That is Sooo true b42

  • i agree with b42baritone.

  • Congress is Bud Abbott, American people are Lou Costello.

  • So true. Sad, but true.

  • That's so true!!!

  • @b42baritone you have it backwards

  • @ihavenoname87 sorry i did

  • @b42baritone
