you need to update your bios for AM3 support (I have the same mobo) and my box says AM2+ by the way.
I dont use a AM3 cpu YET, gonna get a 245 soon.
So.... get an updated BIOS driver (first put a diff CPU in it to actuually boot and get that new driver) and then repop the Athlon II in. should work.
how could i get a bios update wen it wouldnt even get in2 the bios!
anways, after trying everthing, i took it back to the shop and it was discovered that it was BAD ram! i didnt have spare ram 2 test at the time. and as far as i know, the machine shouldve booted in2 the bios at least.
i was informed that modern day MB's wont boot up without working ram. i miss the old days.

I have this exact same problem with a P5Q Pro Turbo. I've tried flashing it, resetting CMOS, but it doesn't start.

u r lucky u can even get it 2 boot up.
i just purchased an asus m2n68-am plus mb with an athlon II x2 240 cpu. the box says socket am3 and yet the mb is a socket am2!
from what ive read, it should start, but obviously doesnt.
