I have no doubt that it is a fake perpetrated by monks of the middle ages.Tests carried out on it have shown that it dates from the 1300's. There is a possibility there was a mistake, but it has been said not by 1000 yrs. If there was a mistake of this magnitude, it would then be dated at around 300AD. That would put it at a time when the original writings of the New Testament were beginning to be doctored in line with what we have today, the modern day New Holy Bible, a complete book of lies.
You almost have to WANT to not believe it's real at this point in order to think its not really Jesus. I don't need for it to be real - but I believe it is. It's essentially a snapshot of the resurrection. The burst of life as it entered Jesus body should be expected to do SOMEthing to cloth pressed against it. Even if there were no markings on his shroud, SOMEONE would have kept it anyway after he rose- who wouldn't ? Its safe to say that Jesus' burial shroud exists. Likely the one with his DNA
Actually it may not be a fake. An examination of the pieces that were carbon dated shows that newer material was woven in to older material do to repairs made in the past. This of coarse causes an averaging of the carbon date depending on how much new material was in each sample. The more newer material the in each sample the younger each sample was dated.
So you are looking at an extraordinary image (which has left scientists scratching their heads) that matches a dead crucified guy with the wounds Jesus had, INCLUDING wounds that were NOT typical of crucifixion victims (the crown of thorns was to mock Jesus, after all).
And remember, WHAT is Jesus supposed to have done, while lying dead in his death shroud just a few days after crucifixion?
Something truly incredible, something people STILL believe happened nearly 2000 years later.
carbon date the pollen?

For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe, no explanation is possible.

It is a fake indeed.
The painter confessed to a french BIshop Darcis, in the middle-Ages
Carbon dating show fabrication in the Middle -Ages.
The silence of the Vatican about the shroud. If it were true, they have such a piece of evidence for christianity.

"Fake as in its not Jesus' face and body"
Yes I get it that you believe that it is a fake.
I just saying that it has not been proven to be a fake.

You are entitled to your opinion, but remember what makes this cloth so unique.
It is a photographic negative with perfectly encoded 3 D image on it.
No painting or photo in the world has this quality.
If this was just some joe schmoe, WHY would his body produce such an extraordinary image, one which modern science can't fathom?
And remember, the body has a crown of thorns and a side wound, on top of scourge and crucifixion wounds.
crucifixion victims weren't given crowns of thorns.
