What a magnificent pianist is Lang Lang. If you want to see more keyboard pyrotechnics, play his version of the Don Juan Paraphrase (Mozart/Liszt) (available in 2 parts on YouTube)...I think it was recorded at Carnegie Hall. Pulse quickening, spine tingling stuff. What a combination...Mozart almost the God of Music, paraphrased by Liszt, a musical genius and perhaps the greatest pianist of the 19th century. I wish I could go back in time to see and hear Franz Liszt (1811-1886) play.

He is a very "nintendo age" pianist. It's not fair to compare him to the great masters of the 19th century, because those were far more musical, subtle, romantic times. Lang Lang brings to the piano all the cell phone and X-Box 360 sensibilities that he has been informed with since birth. As a result, he bangs, slaps, and roundhouse kicks the piano, with little regard for either accuracy, clarity or depth. It's not bad, it's just contemporary.
