Music in it's pure reality.... Beautiful in its complicated harmony and melody....but simple at the same time....Lee with the pentatonics breaking it so beautiful...

Share it with people that thinks that jazz has to be complicated and fast...this is behold jazz because is communicable.....music.......a simple way of communicating horizontally, culture wise speaking...Feelings passing through the molecules of air!!! Simple as that....

I'm watching Ivan tonight with HIS band from Rio. Seen him many times. This is no way close to the original video of this A great song. Just something about LA musicians that just doesn't cut it. Let the Brasilians play their music the way it should be played. Save for Ivan's incredible composition and singing, this REALLY sounds LA ish. Corny and sappy. Sorry Ivan.

Lee Rit., the guitarist played with Sergio Mendez all over Brazil to sell out crowds. Dave Grusin is a piano genius. These guys sound great together and you can tell Ian is digging it as well.

Lee did one of Djavan songs called "asa"..he plays half of the song and Djavan sings half of it...on the same album he had Caetano veloso singing "voce e' linda" and Joao bosco singing "doutor"...it was a great CD..someone borrowed it and i never saw it again...dont even remember the name of it...
