Have to give DAVE MENIKETTI props. Arguably the FINEST Lead Vocalist & Shredder combos in metal. Amazing, gifted & unsung talent.
No coincidence he was asked to sing the opening line of the Hear N Aid Project...he was one of the few who also could've shredded & Sang on this project, too.
Whoever made this list doesnt know shit about Metal.Ronnie James should never be behind any of these guys! Having perry up there is a shame as well!!!
It is a mystery how you even coukd put Robert Plant and Ian Gillan on the same list.. And it's a mystery how that you didn't put him on nnumber one....?
You know whats even more mystery, that i called it "my FAVORITE vocalists" not "BEST vocalists", and after reading it, that you are still wondering how i couldnt, loool
Yeah but, wouldnt number one of the "favourites" also be the best? Maybe ´my thinking is wierd, but I like quality, and the voice I think is my favourite, is also the best.. But, taste is like an ass, splitted.
EUguitarRULE, Shut The Fuck Up, Smelly Racist Poser!!! FUCK YOU! Halford Owns Your Mom You Piece Of Shit! I Think That The Real Gays Are The Pussies That Judging Great Artists Without Really Listen To Them! FUCK YOU!!!
my favourites singer are:joe lynn turner,bon jovi,bruce dickinson,axl roses,ronnie james dio,jeff scott soto,steven tyler,bon scott,Freddy mercury,david coverdale,ian gillan,gram bonnet,sebastian bach,robert plant.THIS ARE THE BEST!!!
Halford IS great... but I repeat one dimensional! He also owes his vocal stylings to the Hard rock greats! I saw him on the sad wings tour and have heard him in earlier carnations (rocka rolla etc.). Still think he is a one trick pony...
Lostprophet: Halford's voice lacks sensitivity, beauty, grace, soul and power...you need these things to be a truly great singer. He is one dimensional!

Joe Lynn Turner Is A Great Singer, And Everyone Who You Said, But Where's Rob Halford?! Listen To Judas Priest's "Sad Wings Of Destiny", "Sin After Sin" And "Stained Class" And After That Tell Me If He's Good Singer Or Not.
Gillan is the best He could hit 2 notes more than Freddie Mercury, and 3 notes more, than Robert Plant.
Also you can hear strange kind of woman(made in japan version, or the youtube video) also the epic Child in Time, with notes of A5 and G5... thats my opinion :D
What you just siad is total bull shit, there is no proof of what you just said and to say that someone hit one more not then someone else is a stupid statement.
Great vocal-list but paul stanley? please! sorry Kiss fans but the only great thing about kiss is the cartoon clown make up, They SUCK!!!!! say what you want and I know you will but they have less musical talent than the back street boys.

LOL...Maybe I was harsh with Plant...He really deserves an honorable mention....But I stand behind what I said about Jimmy Page...He had something other than musical ability which secured his place as a legend..His actual playing was and is average.
My Top Ten: 1. RONNIE JAMES DIO 2. Bruce Dickinson 3. Rob Halford 4. Geoff Tate 5. Ian Gillan 6. Jeff Scott Soto 7. Ray Alder 8. Michael Kiske 9. Lizzy Borden 10. Lemmy (originality counts)
1- Geoff Tate, 2 - Ian Astbury, 3- Axl Rose, 4 - Eddie Vedder, 5 - Jim Morrison, 6 - Rui Reininho, 7 - Rob Halford, 8 - Ronnie James Dio, 9 - David Bowie, 10 - David Lee Roth, 11 - Robert Plant, 12 - Lloyd Cole, 13 - Sebastian Bach. 14 - Mike Patton, 15 - Morrisey, 16 - Trent Reznor, 17 - Anthony Kiedis, 18 - Andrew Eldritch, 19 - Robert Smith, 20 - Bono Vox
3. Mikael Akerfeldt (Look him up, please, his range/versatility blows away anyone on my list, his Growls are spine-chilling and his singing is the most beautiful on this list, with the exception of Sir Paul and Buckley)
2. Jeff Buckley (RIP)
1. Chris Cornell (RIP God-like vocals, he's completely lost his mind now-a-days, but his vocals in Temple of the Dog and early Soundgarden are epic)
1. Steve perry 2. Geoff tate 3. Rob halford 4. Robert plant 5. Roy khan 6. Freddie mercury 7. Ian gillan 8. Bruce dickinson 9. Ronnie james dio 10. Myles kennedy I htink this would be my list, though it changes often.
Danny Vaughn? Jeff Keith?? You may have failed to notice that this debate in is regard to important vocalists...you know, those that have been innovative! not copyists...Oh, and a few record sales may help also.
My Own Top 10 (everyone arent from this video)would be: 1)Dio 2)Dickinson 3)Phil Lynott 4)Rick Medlocke 5)Plant 6)Hetfield 7)Coverdale/Gillan 8)Tony Martin 9)Halford 10)Tate
"Wow" no Danny Vaughn who's the greatest vocalist alive today and could blow any performer of the stage with his vocal ability. Ray Gillan from Badlands who had such an awesome range like no other on the planet when he was alive, R.I.P. Also Michael Hutchence who was so versatile with lots of melody and amazing power R.I.P. Yea think Bruce Dickinson should also be present that still has amazing power to this day and of course the amazing Jeff Keith from the best live band on the planet Tesla.
I totally agree with your opinion. And it's a matter of taste who you think is the "best",I personally rate Robert Plant just a little bit higher, but I could listen to Ian Gillan forever.
My top ten: 1.Bruce Dickinson 2.Robert Plant 3.Phil Anselmo 4.Ian Gillan 5.Michael Kiske 6.Ozzy Osbourne 7.Ronnie James Dio 8.Bon Scott 9.Dave Mustaine 10.John Lennon
Robert Plant should be like 299 he sucked live was only great in the studio for a very short time...The most over rated vocalist in the history of rock. Jimmy Page was way over rated as well...Zeppelin was probably the greatest rock band but individually they were simply good...not great. (except for Bonham)
What have you been smoking!? Page was the heart and creative soul behind Zep. He was a workaholic, and the driving force behind the bands eclectic soun, at least for it's day. And they were all excellent musos in every respect, perhaps excepting blinding virtuosity, wich rarely has anything to do with writing good songs anyway. A part of being good is being able to work together. Thatt's the reason i.e. Sebastian Bach rarely lasts in any band he's in
"ur on crack lol ur favorite band is prolly ACDC"
I despise ACDC...but respect their showmanship....My list is very dated due to lack of powerful or unique vocalists in todays rock.... The legends are all I have...
Absolutely Moonchild...As I said before; It is an indesputable fact that they were the first and most influential singers in Hard rock/Heavy Metal. And they are still unsurpassed some 40 years later! Argue all you like, but your heroes will agree with athtstatetment.
Dio was singing the Blues with Elf in the 70's Lydian13, he never sang hard rock power vocals until he met Blackmore in 75...Also Gillan and Plant were doing this in the 68 and 69 respectively...As i said before...do your homework!!
Robert Plant isn't number one bc he isn't number one. Get it

I despise ACDC...but respect their showmanship....My list is very dated due to lack of powerful or unique vocalists in todays rock.... The legends are all I have...

It'd have helped if you wrote their names so we could know who they are.

So does this list mean that SEBASTIAN BACH IS NUMBER 1? I SHOULD THINK SO! Cool list by the way
