OMG! The last dress Dorothy Jane holds up is the exact one she wore on the first episode. Gosh i love this show. Reminds me when i was little and how i would copy everything Dorothy Jane did like talk to the man in the moon

Except 'Step By Step' is pretty much an exact rip-off of 'The Brady Bunch' anyway and this show is a million times better than 'Step By Step'! At least this show didn't have the mom marrying a new guy at random like those shows. It's a semi-original idea to have her as the nanny instead, too.

Stephen Floyed and Ruth Ann went to go live with there dad. in the first Almost home ep. Dorothy Jane says "Somethin bad happened momma try as she did couldn't make ends meet after the divorce." So they put all the kids names in a had drew 2 out and they were the ones that went." I think they just changed everything because of the move to give it a more city type of feeling.

She never says anything about a divorce in that line. She couldn't make the mortgage.

The divorce was earlier in the series. The father Randy is said to be in Texas.
