Just wanted to let you know I purchased our home new 5yrs ago and this summer my sprinkler system stopped working properly. I obtained several estimates and they all came in around $300-$500. Just before I was going to give the ok for the repairs to be made I came across your videos. Thanks to you I was able to replace 2 valves and 3 solenoids and now my system is working like the day we moved in. All this and I sell insurance for a living. THANK YOU THANK YOU.
Im installing a new valve in a slow leaking 15 year old valve. I tore the old box out roots where pretty bad. Having trouble finding right parts to make the connection! Found 3/4 slide repair fitting, various couplers. Have all the right parts but cant see how people repair these. There's no slack in lines to bend in. Would i be better off installing a new manifold there's 2 valves. Old setup couldnt just be unscrewed without cutting one side pipe.
I'm not seasoned in repairs by any means, but if you're having troubles, it might be best to replace the manifold (sounds quite old anyway) to save some headaches. You might be able to reuse the other valves if they are still in working condition.
Yes, those are Orbit. We carry RainBird, Toro, and Hunter valves as well but we find that Orbit has done just as good a job for us and we get them at a better price, which our customers like.
The manifold isn't pre-assembled, it's a swivel system that goes together piece by piece. I show it in a couple of other videos.
We haven't had any complaints about it.
Where are you doing irrigation repair? Maybe I can send people your way if they're in your area. Feel free to send me some info about your business if you'd like.

in the Atlanta Area
from what ive seen the best way to do one inch valves is slip and 1 and a half inch or bigger threaded with teflon.
