I can still see that day in my head. I was only in the 2nd grade, but I can remember listening to the reports on the radio, seeing the horror in my teacher's face.
@gb6710 thanks for bringing that comment to my attn. I made that comment when I was still ignorant. I watched these events 10 yrs ago but hadn't looked any deeper. I thought it was a mistake to build the freedom tower because it would be a terrorist target. Now I realize the truth about those events, well, some of the truth anyway. Jet fuel my ass.
Impressive coverage by ABC, at this point CNN was still speculating that it might still be an accident, and was certainly not reporting the hijacking, Washington's belief it was a terrorist attack nor the closing of the airports.
well, this was something else to wake up to huh?lol...anyway, the way people described the planes on the video makes it look like they were jets or double engine planes, not commercial airliners---it's so eerie---
@pbf316 Anyone who has studied psychology and even forensics knows that eyewitness testimony isn't reliable. Especially when the eyewitness is in a state of shock, and jumping to immediate conclusions in an attempt to explain something they actually really don't know yet.
@derekxnl Especially when the eyewitness is in a state of shock, and jumping to immediate conclusions in an attempt to explain something that is not immediately apparent.*
@derekxnl so if you watched me kill someone and the cops talked to you right after you saw me do it, and got your "eyewitness" testimony, they shouldnt believe you cuz your in a state of shock?
@lebronsmyboy6 You should watch the news reports about the San Bruno fire where initial reports thought that it was a plane crash when it actually wasn't. All of the "eyewitnesses" claimed it was a plane crash because that's what they heard. They were reluctant to reveal that they actually didn't see anything, only heard it. Our perception of events can be drastically altered simply because we misinterpreted what our senses were telling us.
@derekxnl I understand you man , just getting your view on the subject. I do agree with you though, also another good point on the San bruno fires thats a great example of how people can interpret things based on just what they heard and didnt see, either way 9/11 was horrible, do you think something of that magnitude will evere happen to the U.S. again? If so what do you think it'll be and when will it happen, just asking thats all. I think we may be vunerable again, just dont know when.
@lebronsmyboy6 I think we're vulnerable right now despite what anyone in the government would have you believe. Because when 9/11 happened nobody really thought that something on such a devastating scale could actually happen. No matter how secure we think we are, we will always be open to attack from the place we never would have expected. I don't know when, how, why, or who does it but something is bound to happen. Only in hindsight will we see our mistakes but by then it's too late.
@lebronsmyboy6 The point of all of this is that the "eyewitnesses" on 9/11 who claimed they knew a missile hit the building just because they thought they *heard* a missile doesn't stand up to the hard physical evidence. They were wrong and we know that now. The situation you are describing is entirely different. Plus, after the cops got my version of the story, they'd get others' stories and then compare it to the hard evidence to find out what really happened.
wow should have left charles gibson to report. He wouldnt have been dumb enough to call it an accident after the second plane hit.
