  • @mseastbay can you do one for level 5?

  • @sk8ergyrlz There is one for level 5 bars and also level 5 beam on my page. It should also be in the righthand column with related videos. :-) Thanks for watching!

  • Thank you so much!! this is perfect!!

  • This was a great help! Any way you would be willing to do these kind of videos on lower levels? My daughter is starting level 2 and I would love to have this kind of help for her

  • @furlynn78 In time, I may be able to upload some for lower levels, but we don't have any level 2's at our gym right now. We start competing at level 3, so I don't have anyone to demonstrate the routines. I may do some for level 3 once our girls start practicing their routines again. I'm glad you found it helpful!

  • This video helped me understand the level 4 bar routine sssooooo much better!!!! Sometimes my coaches just make it so confusing! Also, I have a question. With the front hip circle, some of my coaches say I need an arch before I do it, but some of them say I don't because it's much easier for me without an arch. Do I need an arch in it?

  • @gymnastics1248 I'm so glad the video helped! No, you don't need an arch and can actually get a deduction for it, but the coach who tells you to do it is not wrong to have you try it that way. I almost always teach my girls to arch to get momentum when they first learn it. Once they can do it like that with straight arms, THEN I teach them to start from a hollow position. If you start hollow and still bend your arms, then you are better off keeping the arch entry since it gives more power.

  • @mseastbay its actually harder 4 me when i have the arch and she knows that and yet she still makes me use the arch. ive talked to some of my other coaches and they say that i dont need it. but when i try to tell her that its easier for me without it and that the other coaches say i dont need she makes me do it with the arch anyway!!!!

  • Hi do you have any tips on how to get a shoot thru? I need mine, and I don't know how to do it. :/

  • @kourtneybff1 Well the good news is, most people who can't make it are just afraid of it, so once you get past that, it is EASY. I have my gymnasts do them on the floor bar or even the floor. Start from a pushup position and then just lift your leg through your arms and land in a split. Make sure your splits are pretty flexible because lack of flexibility makes it hard to make a shoot through. Also, if your foot is getting stuck, then make sure to cast higher going into it! :-)
