Make sure you get an entertainment lawyer involved first. Mandatory if you hire other musicians or if there are more than one musician, singer, songwriter involved.
Really appreciate this thanks!! By the way is it the acoustics in your studio or are you using a low quality mic because the audio could be better. :)
@Squareryoyo Yes u want the PA form if you created the beats and/or wrote lyrics. You want the SR form if you want to copyright the cd the where beats appear. In his example he basically says that he wrote the songs and has the copyright for the songs, however he doesn't own the copyright for the album that features the song. Another example..Walt Disney had to get an SR copyright for their film Alice in Wonderland but had to pay royalties to the owner of the PA copyright for using the story.
u still can do that long as u copyright it.the thing is those samples are already registered with congress.find an entertainment lawyer and contact that person im pretty sure they will work with u on the publishing especially if its a hit.if they ask for money u dont have try to work out a promissory agreement
u can go to the library any library.make its a city library some small libraries dont have them but the big ones will.take about 10 bucks so u can make copies of the forms while ur there and u wont have to keep coming back
Dillweed So finally some actually usable knowledge about there being a form, but thanks for telling us where or what entity we submit the form to .... don't you think ya left something out you got a lot to learn about teaching. Oh we are all so impressed by your useful teaching

@petronovich30
That's a murky area. You are making something new but the paperwork for it would be horrendous.
Jyagos1 1 year ago
what if you make a beat that contains samples , or interpolations of samples or samles that have been changed or cut up and edited differently?
