What he didn't mention is the guitar to midi converter is MONO, so all you can play are single notes, not chords.

yup. it's monophonic and the note detection is a bit sketchy. better off learning to play basic keyboard.

the output at 0:31 is a midi out jack, it is mostly used on microphones and they have a very good sound quality, that's what they use in studios and stuff

Musical Instrument Digital Interface. It's a bunch of zeros and ones. When you have for example a midi-keyboard, you need some kind of sortware to interpret these zeros and ones. Most artists i know of don't like midi since it loses some of it's musical authenticy. The thing thomas seems to be talking about is xlr which is like a regular guitar cable but balanced (=less disturbance and better preservation of the original sound). Midi= 0 + 1. XLR=electrical pulses (from the membrane of a mic)
