I remember seeing the yardbirds at the old Hullabaloo club in Hollywood about 1966. Jeff Beck was incredible. Light years ahead of anyone else I'd ever seen at the time. A total show off and (apparently) a hard guy to be in a band with, he was still electrifying!
It's a bbc documentary - possibly the best series I've ever seen on the history of rock and roll. I believe it was produced int eh 90's. I've never been able to find a copy - searching always only turned up a far inferior series. I'm still hoping to find a copy on dvd.
