WOW ABC News Brief with Charles Gibson talking about the snow storm that hit Chicago. That was our last year in Chicago. The sno stayed on the ground until May 1979! I guess ABC ran a special rerun of the pilot episode on Monday.

Dang Charles Gibson has been substituting Jennings and in some cases co-anchoring with Jennings when he is on location for World News for over 30 years before being the permanent anchor

Actually, you're both right -- Reynolds (in DC), Jennings (in London) and Max Robinson (in the nation's heartland, Chicago) were joint anchors of WNT unitl Reynolds died and Jennings was given the job solo...
