Its not "Old tech" when ATT still does not have 4G. It is comparing what one provider has vs. another. Sprints best is an Evo with 4G and ATTs best is an iPhone 4 with 3G. Your analogy is summarizing this situation perfectly - ATT is the model T and should be avoided like the plague. Sprint isn't universally cheaper than the competition. Tmobile matches Sprint in price/features here. But they actually have a better 3G network than Sprint, while Sprint has no 4G here. Verizon costs more, but has better coverage and 3G speed.

@EmgTek as far as I know. I got the Htc EVO the day it came out and it's worth the upgrade. You can actually watch videos utilizing the entire screen in HD and HQ . Using 3g is almost as fast as my comcast cable broadband internet,so I can only imagine that 4g is going to be lightening fast! I'll probably dump my comcast internet and just use the EVO's wifi hotspot capability and surf the net on my laptop using the Evo 4g but 4g isn't available where I'm at till the 4th quarter of 20010

@EmgTek Yeah the battery life isn't that good. I have friends with the iphone but i personally never had an iphone because i refuse to get AT&T service because it sux where i live. I think the battery life will increase however as I break the battery in . Every phone i've had they told me to drain the battery dead and recharge it fully for the first week and the battery life always increases but I'll probably invest in an extended battery because i like charging my phone every other day.
This is quite misleading. The last bit with the 3G hotspot isn't nearly that slow.
Granted, I tested mine with a Jailbroken iPhone. My internet when wireless tethered to my laptop is MUCH quicker then that. It's only maybe half as slow as actual home broad band. As a matter of fact I can even play WoW over it with roughly 400 - 700 ms response (not amazing obviously, but certainly not in the example).
I AM dropping AT&T and getting Sprint/EVO4G, but just saying, this is a bit exaggerated.
OK perfect commercial for this phone: Every major highspeed flagship phones are lined up (including evo) then the say "has an 8 mega pixel camera" than like 3 phones drop. Then its "720p rec. and touchscreen" 2 phones drop. Then 4.3 multi touch 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, wifi, thousands of android apps, and 4G." All the rest of the phones drop but the evo.
Yah... Whatev, Lets just wait for the iPhone HD, then we can actually compare this to something. And really, who happens to have a magical 4g Hotspot in their house for the ipad??
@ASlapFromGod Dude, sprint sells a mobile hotspot device that up to 5 devices can connect to. Also, the iphone 4g will not be running on 4g internet speeds. Currently Sprint is the only carrier to have 4g.
this is fixed, if u go to 0:46 you can see a shadow come from the right in the middle, then suddenly the shadow disappears and the phone moves upwards a tiny bit.
its not a side by side comparison but different takes spliced in the middle.

The iPad as AT&T runs on different frequencies I think, so a booster could help the Sprint where you just let the building slow down the 3G. Great phone, but this video is opportunistically set up. You have the best phone sprint, no need to fluff the results.

@1Sideout I don't know why you think the pricing sucks. Take the ipad 3g, it's 30 bucks a month on att and all you get is att's slow network. With the evo you can pair 8 devices on the 4g which sad to say is faster than my home dsl. so by buying a wifi only ipad you pay less for the ipad and the same for faster internet, or you get rid of your home internet and only have this for 30 bucks a month. I don't think that's too bad. I pay $30 for 1.5mbps max and this does 4mbps consistently

OK perfect commercial for this phone: Every major highspeed flagship phones are lined up (including evo) then the say "has an 8 mega pixel camera" than like 3 phones drop. Then its "720p rec. and touchscreen" 2 phones drop. Then 4.3 multi touch 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, wifi, thousands of android apps, and 4G." All the rest of the phones drop but the evo.

@ASlapFromGod Dude, sprint sells a mobile hotspot device that up to 5 devices can connect to. Also, the iphone 4g will not be running on 4g internet speeds. Currently Sprint is the only carrier to have 4g.

this is fixed, if u go to 0:46 you can see a shadow come from the right in the middle, then suddenly the shadow disappears and the phone moves upwards a tiny bit.
its not a side by side comparison but different takes spliced in the middle.

Though i am gonna get an EVO, I don't like that this video clearly cheats. YOu compare it to the HTC Incredible for the screen. Then the iPhone for 3G vs 4G. The Moto Droid for comparing internet enable app loading and 3G vs 3G. The iPad as AT&T runs on different frequencies I think, so a booster could help the Sprint where you just let the building slow down the 3G. Great phone, but this video is opportunistically set up. You have the best phone sprint, no need to fluff the results.

So add $10 for 4g, want to use as a wireless hotspot add $30. Sprint's pricing was competitive, now it sucks. If the phone is like this video, its crap!

@1Sideout I don't know why you think the pricing sucks. Take the ipad 3g, it's 30 bucks a month on att and all you get is att's slow network. With the evo you can pair 8 devices on the 4g which sad to say is faster than my home dsl. so by buying a wifi only ipad you pay less for the ipad and the same for faster internet, or you get rid of your home internet and only have this for 30 bucks a month. I don't think that's too bad. I pay $30 for 1.5mbps max and this does 4mbps consistently
