They may not be good substitutes for real pets, but that's not technically what they're supposed to be anyway. They're toys, and quite good toys at that.

i've got that cat watching the video with me i call him stupid cat because he meows the worst and he sucks and he never does much i got him for my 8th birthday now i'm 11
when i was like four, i had almost the same cat, just like 2003 version. that cat would walk to me and it would drink it's bottle. apparently their newer ones work like crap. i have this baby panda and it will only make this weird noise and move it's arms and legs.
wonder if this cat has somekind of motion detector...?
coz if it does, then mebbe it can be like a scarecrow...when a rat/mice/mouse pass by, it'll stare at it n hiss or something...IF it can do that, then atleast people can use that cat to "guard" the house from pests like rats without even having to feed them (which is real good for people who travel often and rarely at home but fear pests may ruin the place)
Yes, he does have a motion sensor: the first time I saw these cats was a display in a shop, and as we walked past the whole row moved their heads and meowed - it was a little bit freaky.
I know that moron, I am just saying for a young child, this is a very nice toy. You don't have to get all pissy because I said its good for children who live in apartments. I guess you just think all people should have pets then and no toys in the house? Or do you mean that everyone who wants an animal to have fun with means they want a toy and shouldn't have a pet?
>The very idea that you think this TOY is substitute shows that you have very little knowledge about how children interact with pets.
Wow, that is saying something since I am a dog trainer, and have been for several years. I have dealt with many children and their friends, and I shall tell you that they are GREAT with pets. Maybe you weren't good with pets as a kid, but there are many children that are responsible, loving caregivers. Don't lump everyone together into your singleminded ideas.

Well, I did dog rescue for a decade, and put 20 through rescue. I know what a typical puke is like, at first, it's a cute little puppy, but then, a dog.
You know, I am done, I can not argue with an idiot, enough said. The great thing is you don't write laws, so that many happy children the world over can learn to care for and love pets, and I shall go on showing them how to care for their friends. You can just go on being single minded, have fun.
> You know, I am done, I can not argue with an idiot,

Hey look, you might take comfort in writing me off as some ignorant fool that doesn't have the first clue about what he's talking about, but I'm not.
Kids are horrible HORRIBLE pet owners. A dog lives for 14 years, 20 if you're really lucky. A kid at 5 or 10 has a totally different set of interests than a kid of 15 or 20. They are the WORST dog owners on the planet and I know FIRST HAND this is true, deny it or not.
i agree. Granted, I was one of the few kids I knew of who was a "great pet owner", because I actually managed to feed the pets and keep them clean and managed their bathroom hygiene well. but I can tell you that the vast MAJORITY of my peers were absolutely terrible pet owners.even one of the guys who actually took care of his cat well, ended up sticking a pen up its buthole in fourth grade, and one girl took great pleasure on jerking her dog's "lipstick".can't even tell you the oral stories.
well... most kids gets tired of their pets after a while... and the parents end up having to take them outside them selfs and feed them. I noticed dogs are better pets for a kid than cats, easier to understand, and you can play more games with a dog. Kids sometimes do traumatizing stuffs when they don't know its bad.... my first cat got killed by a kid... and he did it on purpose, the neighbor saw him but it was too late... Some are good... but... I'll say you just are lucky
Imagine it levitating in the middle of the night over your bed and looking straight at you with glowing red eyes and paws dirty with blood....ugh Im freaking myself out XD
i have this cat and i do not advise any1 2 but it! it hisses at random times and it always scares my cousin who <3's cats whenever she comes over and sometimes the censors dont work like they should
actually it;s only 39.97 dollars USD. :) not that expensive in my opinion. I think your thinking of the dog/pony which is around the 150-200 bucks area.
I don't think it bothers, you appear very nice to it!!! If I got this for my baby brother who just likes to pull cat tails it would be hissing all day and night!!!
Normally he meows all the time, especially if you don't pay enough attention to him, and it's getting him to shut up so you can hear the TV that's the problem (not true of course - a quick flick of his switch to 'off' and peace and quiet is restored!).

think about it...would u wanna buy a quite costly robot pet so that your kids can destroy it in seconds???
kaizer3000 2 years ago

lmaowhat 2 years ago
There could be other reasons for this:
1. The place where the children live doesn't allow animals like in some apartments
2. the child has allergies to animals, cats cause more allergies in children then dogs or hamsters.
3. The family aren't home alot, between school, work and such, and it wouldn't be right for a real animal to be left in the house like that.

I take issue with people that get pets for kids. Kids are the worst possible owner for a pet.
The very idea that you think this TOY is substitute shows that you have very little knowledge about how children interact with pets.
