Once the footage was shot, and the tape digitized into photoshop, I'd say about 5-10 hrs of tracing and color filling in photoshop. Then about 2 hours in Final Cut Pro. Those are just loose estimates though, as I did the project about 2 years ago and don't recall exact times.
rotoscope is an animation technique where you trace over filmed footage (either physically or digitally). Then trash the film, but keep the drawing, giving you a hand drawn animation that is very fluid and life-like.
