@spitzer72 I am with you, but at the same time I would like to watch this in English. Pope Pius XII like all other Popes, is a man of good will, and authority, devoted to doing the will of the Father in heaven for the sake of the Church. Let the scoffers say what they want, for their words are empty; Pius XII is with God now. Commend the ignorant to the will of the father and pray for their conversion. Amen.
How wonderful to see pictures of the life of dear Pope Pius X11. He was truly a great man who lived during very hard times. He had to shepherd Holy Church so that it was not defiled by those persons who were created by the Devil himself.
Pius X11 is the most holy pope I have know in my lifetime, and although reviled by ignorant persons he truly is a friend of God Himself.
I am glad that our Holy Father Benedict XVI Finally declared Pius XII and John Paul II 'Venerable" It is only a matter of time that they both join Blessed John XXIII on the altars.
What could be more shamelessly hypocritical than someone who calls himself "alwaysbehumble" and spews forth vitriol, hate, bigotry and prejudice as you do. One cannot hate a fellow human being more than to wish him in Hell, as you do. Humble? Who are you kidding? Shame on you - you are the deceiver.
This self-proclaimed "pope" is now burning in hell, not because of anyone's hatred, but due to God's divine rage. God punishes Satan and his accomplices without mercy. Divine condemnations descend upon heretical evil-doers as the will of God dictates, regardless of human opinions about those falling souls. It's rediculous to think I wish him in hell. I wish him no ill. Yet I have no power to save him from his inevitable damnation, which is a result of his own sin.
He was not self-proclaimed but was duly elected in proper form, Mr self-proclaimed "humble". You are a fraud and a hypocrite, spewing forth hatred and hypocrisy like the Devil who is so obviously your master. No doubt you think Mother Teresa, St Francis of Assisi and the Good Samaritan all in Hell, too. Your diabolical calumny and hatred in wishing someone in Hell will lead you to a richly deserved Hell, yourself, if you do not draw back from your repulsive sin.
i thought we werent supposed to judge people? doesnt christ teach something about that? only god decides who goes to heaven and hell. go sell your anti catholic hatred somewhere else
It is a distortion of history, and a great slander on a great pope to say that Pope Pius xii did not oppose the nazis. It is estimated that 600,000 jews were directly saved by the agency of the Catholic Church during world war ii. the Pope ordered that all convents and seminaries be opened to give refuge to the jews of Italy. This was done at great risk to the people concerned. The truth about the Pope can be ascertained by reading the comments of Golda Meir after his death.
Idiot?! and you are what? There is no such thing as "the one true catholic church", it's oxymoron. I live in Poland (90% papists) and I do know, how destuctive and evil this organization is. As a child I had to woship a picture of Mary and pray to john poul (a catholic idol)....it"s a pure idolatry. I do remember how my priest said that the Bible, without tradition, is a bunch of fairy tales...that is a pure heresy, or even an apostasy.
The priest you spoke about exagerated but in this he was right. "Sola scriptura" isn't "biblical". Find me in the bible where it is written that the new testament should have 27 books and not 28 or 29....
I am not a catholic and nor do I belong to any organised religion. I have concerns about those who profess spiritual authority over anyone. This said your postings are vile and cruel and written to cause maximum hurt. You reveal far more of yourself than ever your reveal about Pope Pius. It's no doubt a wasted energy but I feel sorry for you and your kind.
I do think that pope Pius XII is a saint indeed! people complain saying that he did nothing to help jews but thats not true. from what i heard, he housed hundreds and possibly thousands of jews within papal apartments, far from nazi invasion! many mothers had there sons named Pio and Eugenio after him!
Exactly, from what you've heard. Please take it from scholar of Pius PP. XII. The history is incorrect regarding this stance. Please do the requisite work and stop promoting such a skewed picture of The Holy Father.
what do you know about him? the only reason why you ridicule him is becuase of what you heard FROM OTHER PEOPLE and or from that heritic video of the holy father they made in the 60's claiming that did did nothin to help the jews. ''the blind are leading the blind'', and so far, not to be judging, you listening to other people who talk like this and follow them clearly suits that statement
well sorry for falsley accusing you. when it comes to christianity, i kinda become passionate i lose myself in the moment sometimes. so it's good that your among the good who see him a saint. soooooo i guess your waiting for an invite to his canonization? lol
No problem - I have been voicing this outrage against those that would curse his name for years. This man was and is a Saint and the world should know it.
He was the last one who tried to prevent Masonic and Protestants from invading Church and making changes that leads to relinquishing its Tradition. John XXIII, Paul VI and especially John Paul II were all not catholic. Teachings they preached are contrary to what Church preached through its history. Separation Church from state, religious freedom, dialogue with infidels, democracy in Church - it was all condemned in Syllabus Errorum by Pius IX.
« Pave the way » proposera Pie XII comme « Juste parmi les nations »
one of the many things that i like about pius XII were the wondrful vesments he worn! god bless our holy father benedict XVI for returing them, now all we need is the papal tiara!
Pius XII was a good, holy, kind man and was slandered after WWII by Communists and others. He was not anti-Jewish. He is Pope Servant of God Pius XII now and you can already ask him to pray for you. I believe he is in heaven with God. He will be beatified and canonized eventually. It isn't unusual for the process to take sometimes 50-60 years. Just ask his prayers and pray for his canonization for the glory of God. I am confident he will be called Saint Pius XII eventually.
As a matter of fact he spent large amounts of the Vatican's gold supply to bribe Nazi's into letting Jews hide in Vatican City and under immunity. He did more for Jews than any other Pope, including modern Popes who seem happy to just engage in diplomacy. Pius XII was an active servant of God
Pope Pius XII is called "Servant of God." Next is beatification. Canonization follows. In early days there was a decades long wait before this process could begin (approx. 50 years). Option to speed "saint" process was granted under Pope John Paul II in 1983. Pius XII died in 1958. His beatification is not being delayed really. It's about average when compared with many saints. Faster canonizations are a very recent. I think he will be Saint Pius XII in 10 yrs or so.
you need to ask yourself first why he has not been made a Saint. explain to me what his importance was in history, he seemed to play it both ways. I find this particular POPE very consumed with his image. now granted I understand he was limited during the time of war there is only so much they can do.
@darsham Pope Pius XII warned of all heresies, of the silent apostasy by false modern ecumenism since Vatican II. (Ecclesia Catholica, 1949). Against neo-modernism. (Humani Generis, 1950) Against liturgical destruction and liturgical extremist renewal (Mediator Dei, 1947). Against a dissolution of the visible unity of the Church of Christ for the "modern ecumenism". (Mystici corporis, 1943) Pius XII was a saint who saved many persecuted. Jews, but he also saved Germans who were massacred.
darsham, I see your comment about not returning to the True Church. Your mind needs to be converted to the truths of the 260 popes. It is heresy after that and proven. Wish you would check out the words and compare the two churches. Wish I could help.
Dear "darsham", Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful historical treasure. Pius XII was Pope during the first years of my childhood and it has been such a pleasure to watch this video. I wish this film could be made available on DVD through Catholic bookstores/catalogues.
What? If you think I reject V. II only because I added videos of Pius XII you're totally wrong.
"The death of..." it's just the title of the documentary, not my invention, he was from an aristocratic family of Rome so there is nothing of wrong. But if you mean I'm nostalgic ... no... we don't have to consider a pope like an hero and another like an enemy... every one was sent for their time, and we have to look ahead and not to cry fro the past, I added him because important for the history...
Gloria Eterna a Pio XII

Pius XII was vocally anti-Communist, for which Communists have steadily tried to assassinate his character. To view testimonials of victims and witnesses of the persecution against Roman Catholics in Communist China, please check out my videos...
Final Comments: The everyday Germans, Jews, Poles were caught in the Jewish Bankster manufactured World War II behind their paid agents Hitler, Stalin, Churchill, Roosevelt. In fighting broke out, yes, but this is the basic story. The everyday Germans and Poles were framed by postwar Jewish/Hollywood propaganda, and everyday Germans and Poles had nothing to do with any Holocaust. (See above part II of final commment)
In his Christmas , Pope Pius XII spoke of the 'hundreds of thousands of innocent people who have been killed or condemned to a slow extinction only because of their race'. As part of a wider denunciation of the Holocaust this would have been brave and useful, but in fact it was to be his only
public wartime mention of it, and he did not even identify Hitler, the Nazis or the Jews by name. This failure publicly to denounce the greatest single crime in the history of mankind.
arguing that his silence over the Holocaust, was 'motivated by a sense of duty towards the Catholic Church', which he feared would suffer grievously if he spoke out. He also genuinely feared that the Jews themselves would suffer, for, as the Pontiff put it, 'No doubt a protest would have
gained me the praise and respect of the civilised world, but it would have submitted the Jews to an even worse fate'. He based this upon the effect that the Dutch Catholic bishops' outcry had against the fate of the Jews in Holland, after which the Nazis responded by killing 80 per cent of all Dutch Jews and refusing to recognise conversions to Catholicism (although they did to Protestantism).
Pius also weighed the perceived dangers to the sovereignty
of the Vatican City in his calculations, as well as his Church's ability to continue to protect tens of thousands of Italian Jews from Nazi persecution, including an estimated 3,000 at his summer residence alone. it is doubtful that even the harshest papal encyclical would in reality have done anything much to stymie the plans of men like Himmler and Heydrich. Pius was naive to believe that a protest would have made European Jews' situation worse,
however, since by the autumn of 1941 the Final Solution was already under way. After Rome was liberated in June 1944, the Pope could have at least threatened to excommunicate leading Nazis, as he did anyone voting Communist in the Italian elections of 1948.
Noel describes Pius XII as a 'spiritual megalomaniac' who 'agonised over the fate of the Jews (and other Nazi victims) but put their fate second to that of his Church'. Yet the Pope consistently underestimated the spiritual power of the
Church in southern Germany, undermined the Catholic anti-Nazi Zentrum party before the war, and failed to protest even when he knew from scores of sources that the Nazis were murdering thousands of Catholic priests across Eastern Europe, especially in Poland. 'In retrospect,' concludes Noel perceptively, 'we can see that Hitler played the Pope with consummate expertise.'
(Noel also believes that Pius' postwar visions of Our Lord appearing to him in his bedroom at St Peter's were
hallucinations He might well be right, although if the Almighty had chosen to return to Earth, then a visit to his vicar here might well be the obvious place to start.)
Pius XII was ascetic, hardworking, frail, compassionate, logical, pious, subtle and highly intelligent, but over the single greatest issue of his life he was plainly wrong. Of course he should have protested vigorously against the Catholic Ustashe regime in Croatia killing Orthodox Serbs,
I can't wait till they cannonize Pius XII. He was a true man of God. I wish I could have lived while he did and met him. Oh well, perhapes I will have the chance to in the next life.
Those who would attack him, have no idea the number of Jews he had saved from the Nazi. Only those Jews who are left can testify to the number of priests and nuns who help them escape the death camps.
Did anybody save so many jews like the pope Pio XII in Rome? He wasn`t antisemite. This is a lie spread for those which want to destroy his legacy. He was a righteous man, a true believer in Jesus Christ.
But it was necessary to deform the history of his papacy, because then they could justify all the things that change in the Catholic Church after Pope Pio`s death.
If the Holy See can finish the beatification process of John Paul II within 3 or 4 years after his death as they claimed, why cannot they finish the beatification process of Pius XII in 50 years? Please, please, don't allow the false political correctness to deprive the Church of a truly great saint, Pius XII, the Defender of Peace, the Defender of Holy Tradition, the Defender of Sacred Liturgy, and the Defender of Catholic Identity!
Viva Pius XII, the Prince of God, the victim of terrible propaganda! There were thousands of Jewish people hidden inside the Vatican and set free secretly to America. Pius did whatever he was able to do! He openly criticised Nazism and Communism and all acts of war. His words about PEACE exemplify his attitude. Times were really hard and it was a terribly difficult task to be the Pope then. By the way, good archive documentary!
The Jewish theologian Pinchas Lapide wrote: "The final number of Jewish lives in whose rescue the Catholic Church had been the instrument is thus at least 700,000 souls, but in all probability it is much closer to ... 860,000."
These same figures are upheld by Rabbi David G. Dalin.
Pope Pius XII was thanked by the Chief Rabbis of Jerusalem and of Rome, and the latter, Israel Zolli, converted to Catholicism after the war, taking the name Eugenio in the Pope's honour.
Christe asked us to love eachother, you're full of hate.
We all christian should search to be united, and try to stop those who would be interested in a such behavior, so you try to maintain the division of christians. Youwork for the diviser (diabolos (the diviser) in ancien greek, mean the devil).
she said something like: "We lost a great servant of peace". It's ironic that Israel had him not portrayed as a Holocaust ignorer; in the meantime, however, Western literature keenly regarded Pius as negligent, as if it was himself alone's fault.
It's fascinating comparing the Italian of Pope Pius XII versus the Italian of Pope John XXIII. This video has marvelous footage of Pope Pius XII. He is a Servant of God, hopefully soon to be beatified and canonized. Pope Pius was a very wise man (read his encyclicals) and he had more of a sense of humor and personal warmth than he is credited with. I'd love to see footage of his audience with the Harlem Globetrotters (late 50s).
If you read "Sacred Causes" by Michael Burleigh, you find that Pius XII was anything but Hitler's Pope. He did not realise that there was an extermination going on, so was motivated not to speak up too much and make an already bad situation worse. When he realised it was an extermination, he began to make arrangements to smuggle Jews to safety using Vatican resources. He also made plans to elect his replacement in the event of his kidnap by the Nazis
The First Reich refers to the Holy Roman Empire which lasted over a thousand years from 800AD to 1806 when it was formally dissolved. The Second Reich is Hohenzollern German Empire which lasted from 1871 until 1919.
You see: the people that have reports on what was happening in those days were many. Who did raise his voice, for example, to warn that every single German officials would be considered personally responsible for the treatment on the civil population. I think this would be quite effective, because no one had the excuse of not knowing any longer. But this had never been said in any of the Casablanca, Yalta and so on meetings.
The Allies had detailed reports about Auschwitz during the war from Polish partisans and escaped prisoners. But they chose not to bomb the camp, the rail lines leading to it, or any of the other Nazi death camps, preferring instead to focus all resources on the broader military effort, a decision that became the subject of intense controversy years later.
Between 1.1 million and 1.5 million people were killed at the camp.
"We should have bombed it," Bush said, according to Shalev.
At Yad Vashem, Bush says U.S. erred in not bombing Auschwitz By The Associated Press
At one point, Bush viewed aerial photos of the Auschwitz camp taken during the war by U.S. forces and called Rice over to discuss why the American government had decided against bombing the site, Shalev said.
Where can one find the other parts of this documentary. I watched it on rai tre a few months ago, and the sections on the war are also very interesting...can you either post where the videos of the documentary or inform me where to find it...thank you so much, this is very good of you to post these great documentaries

huangliang3 All Countries England, France, Poland they all recognised Hitler as the Head of the German State before the War.Including the Vatican State.Including the Soviet Union. They all had Bank dealings also. The Prime Minister of England Praised him. Were all then Nazi sympathisers?.No! Noone of them! After Hitler started the War all States including the Vatican went against him. This is the Truth!
he was not a nazi symphatiser and he saved personally a lot of Jew people, even if the Church is not in obligation to do so, being responsible only of catholic people.
even if he signed some documents, it was the necessity. ut in real, he helped the oppostion against Hitler and he was opposed to nazi ideas; Hitler's anger against the catholics arised after the Pope's speech. Since, he was carefull about his words, trying to avoid more persecutions, more violence.
You should also come to Poland and see the country the most blessed by this war (more victims than in all the other countries). Where You could find some help? By the priests. That's why Hitler decided to eliminate them all, one year before the end of the War. That is the Truth.
if he was a nazi sympathizer, why did hitler want him dead? he signed the concordat in the 1930's, before he was pope. he was the papal nuncio to germany
No surprise that the greatest Pope of recent times should draw such a jaundiced and historically inaccurate response. His holiness draws out such a response in the ignorant and ungodly. Pope Pius remains untarnished in the minds and hearts of those who know the Truth.
You are not understanding the cannon- the cannon does not imply that you must do X amount of sacriments with X amount of regularity- it is stating that the Sacriments are an important part of our growth spiritually and the cannon says they are vital for salvation.
I will repeat it one more time =/ "This canon does not say "You must do X amount of sacraments or you're going to hell!" it says "Anyone who says sacraments aren't an important part of our communication with God is an anathema" If one truly believes- one will seek communion with God through the Blessed Sacraments. " There is no "magic number"
Precisely my point. It doesn't mention an X amount. Yet the Canon says " the seven sacraments are in deed necessary (unto salvation)for every individual". How many? How often? How can a Catholic know he/she has done enough of these sacraments to please an infinite and holy God?
You seem to believe there is an amount that one must do? No- all that is mentioned here is that we should participate in the Sacriments as they are an important part of our growth- there is no "set number" that you seem think we say every Christian must meet.
Now- with that said- this cannon affirms that we can not be saved without baptism. Furthermore- it illustrates the importance of the Sacraments and the way they bring us closer to him. This canon does not say "You must do X amount of sacraments or you're going to hell!" it says "Anyone who says sacraments aren't an important part of our communication with God is an anathema" If one truly believes- one will seek communion with God through the Blessed Sacraments.
In response to a previous point you made about works. A common misconception is that Catholics believe that works are what save you- this is not true. Catholics believe that- with His Spirit we should be compelled to do works and works can help us build our faith. As James 2:17 says, "So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead." How shallow our faith would be without works, if we are truly believers who wish to become more like Him- we should be compelled to build up our faith.

Jacobitejim 2 years ago 19
This self-proclaimed "pope" is now burning in hell, not because of anyone's hatred, but due to God's divine rage. God punishes Satan and his accomplices without mercy. Divine condemnations descend upon heretical evil-doers as the will of God dictates, regardless of human opinions about those falling souls. It's rediculous to think I wish him in hell. I wish him no ill. Yet I have no power to save him from his inevitable damnation, which is a result of his own sin.
alwaysbehumble 2 years ago
He was not self-proclaimed but was duly elected in proper form, Mr self-proclaimed "humble". You are a fraud and a hypocrite, spewing forth hatred and hypocrisy like the Devil who is so obviously your master. No doubt you think Mother Teresa, St Francis of Assisi and the Good Samaritan all in Hell, too. Your diabolical calumny and hatred in wishing someone in Hell will lead you to a richly deserved Hell, yourself, if you do not draw back from your repulsive sin.

I am confident he will be called Saint Pius XII eventually.
dutchguy 2 years ago 5
As a matter of fact he spent large amounts of the Vatican's gold supply to bribe Nazi's into letting Jews hide in Vatican City and under immunity. He did more for Jews than any other Pope, including modern Popes who seem happy to just engage in diplomacy. Pius XII was an active servant of God
thatstrbl 2 years ago
Pope Pius XII is called "Servant of God." Next is beatification. Canonization follows. In early days there was a decades long wait before this process could begin (approx. 50 years). Option to speed "saint" process was granted under Pope John Paul II in 1983. Pius XII died in 1958. His beatification is not being delayed really. It's about average when compared with many saints. Faster canonizations are a very recent. I think he will be Saint Pius XII in 10 yrs or so.

cassapollard 2 years ago
@darsham Pope Pius XII warned of all heresies, of the silent apostasy by false modern ecumenism since Vatican II. (Ecclesia Catholica, 1949). Against neo-modernism. (Humani Generis, 1950) Against liturgical destruction and liturgical extremist renewal (Mediator Dei, 1947). Against a dissolution of the visible unity of the Church of Christ for the "modern ecumenism". (Mystici corporis, 1943) Pius XII was a saint who saved many persecuted. Jews, but he also saved Germans who were massacred.

In his Christmas , Pope Pius XII spoke of the 'hundreds of thousands of innocent people who have been killed or condemned to a slow extinction only because of their race'. As part of a wider denunciation of the Holocaust this would have been brave and useful, but in fact it was to be his only

arguing that his silence over the Holocaust, was 'motivated by a sense of duty towards the Catholic Church', which he feared would suffer grievously if he spoke out.

Pius also weighed the perceived dangers to the sovereignty
damiantvz 3 years ago
of the Vatican City in his calculations, as well as his Church's ability to continue to protect tens of thousands of Italian Jews from Nazi persecution, including an estimated 3,000 at his summer residence alone. it is doubtful that even the harshest papal encyclical would in reality have done anything much to stymie the plans of men like Himmler and Heydrich. Pius was naive to believe that a protest would have made European Jews' situation worse,
damiantvz 3 years ago
however, since by the autumn of 1941 the Final Solution was already under way.

Papa Pacelli ora pro nobis!

Of course the history is written by the winners.

At one point, Bush viewed aerial photos of the Auschwitz camp taken during the war by U.S. forces and called Rice over to discuss why the American government had decided against bombing the site, Shalev said.

huangliang3 All Countries England, France, Poland they all recognised Hitler as the Head of the German State before the War.Including the Vatican State.Including the Soviet Union. They all had Bank dealings also. The Prime Minister of England Praised him. Were all then Nazi sympathisers?.No! Noone of them! After Hitler started the War all States including the Vatican went against him. This is the Truth!
Jame243 4 years ago
he was not a nazi symphatiser and he saved personally a lot of Jew people, even if the Church is not in obligation to do so, being responsible only of catholic people.
even if he signed some documents, it was the necessity. ut in real, he helped the oppostion against Hitler and he was opposed to nazi ideas; Hitler's anger against the catholics arised after the Pope's speech.

-_- if you do not understand it by now- there is little I can do to help you understand the cannon.
futurencsenator 4 years ago
You are not understanding the cannon- the cannon does not imply that you must do X amount of sacriments with X amount of regularity- it is stating that the Sacriments are an important part of our growth spiritually and the cannon says they are vital for salvation.
futurencsenator 4 years ago
I will repeat it one more time =/ "This canon does not say "You must do X amount of sacraments or you're going to hell!" it says "Anyone who says sacraments aren't an important part of our communication with God is an anathema" If one truly believes- one will seek communion with God through the Blessed Sacraments. " There is no "magic number"
futurencsenator 4 years ago
Precisely my point. It doesn't mention an X amount. Yet the Canon says " the seven sacraments are in deed necessary (unto salvation)for every individual". How many? How often? How can a Catholic know he/she has done enough of these sacraments to please an infinite and holy God?
PaulMacGregorWhitby 4 years ago
You seem to believe there is an amount that one must do? No- all that is mentioned here is that we should participate in the Sacriments as they are an important part of our growth- there is no "set number" that you seem think we say every Christian must meet.
futurencsenator 4 years ago
I've already given you the answer thrice- if you have not picked up on the answer by now- there is little I can do to help you comprehend it =/
futurencsenator 4 years ago
I agree with the Church's standing that the sacraments of the new law are "necessary unto salvation"
futurencsenator 4 years ago
