  • It's StraVinsky, not StraWinsky...

  • @spongebobsqa7 as it IS a russian name..the W is perfectly acceptable :)

  • Dude this guy is like paul bunyon, jesus and the jolly green giant had sex with mr t and Chuck Norris. His rage is formidable! The way he he attacks the instrument like a wounded possum makes me want to power blast a toddler into outer space! Oh dear god the poly rhythms!!! I was waiting for a Balroc to come storming in the back and eat all the unsuspecting contertgoers for not rage fighting eachother during this entire performance. This is what the people in Paris saw on opening night!

  • Es increíble saber que somos contemporáneos a seres como usted... BRAVISSIMO! Allora... Grazie, grazie, grazie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Watch "Stravinsky - Le Sacre du Printemps For Piano - Fazil Say" (the first 8 minutes are avilable on youtube). Say's version is superb!!!!

  • i bet his fingers hurt so bad afterwards.

  • super-human! I once heard him live play Schubert and Liszt, we were literally speechless for at least 10 minutes after the end, the standing ovation was the loudest, it was like something out of the movie "Alien"

  • I still cannot believe this man. He's beyond anyone I've ever seen in my life and he now goes and does this totally mad performance of what might be the best piece of music ever created!!! I'm still trying to get it into my head that he's real!

  • That was something else. The Sacrificial Dance is not an easy piece for four hands, let alone twol That was as good a perfomance with 2 as I have heard for 4. So overall, I am converted. Signore Rivera really does deserve applause for the premier for what was thought impossible. Yet this is the most important piece in 20th century music - if not ALL music. Why does no one else play it?

    Well Done Daniel Rivera

  • Bravo!!!! genial memor que muchas orquestas ...

  • Check out Rivera's col pugno at around 6:00! This man is an amazing artist.

  • phenomenal performance. cheers for that.

  • miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinchia e' un fenomeno!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where can I find the sheet music of this transcription? All I can find is the one by Leyetchkiss.

  • I just got done watching all four of these and these four videos on YouTube have forever changed my life. I am still trying to come to grips with what I just heard and saw. Rivera, truly that was the most splendid performance and adaptation to one of the most pivotal pieces of the 20th century. That was also one of the most impressive exhibition of technical prowess I've ever scene. I can't say enough good things about this...

  • god should not be photographed.

    120 out of 5 stars.

stravinskey is my god and this is god's messenger.

    b-bb-bra-bravo.

  • and I am a fervent worshipper

  • Il Maestro ha ingoiato un'orchestra intera. Perfetto.

  • INCREDIBLE!

  • I saw Dickram Atamian on TV doing Raphling's transcription. It was an eye-opener! The movements were obviously separate takes, because he'd start each one fresh and dry, and by the end he'd be spraying water every time he shook his head. I'm seriously happy to find this here -- thanks for posting it!

  • MASSIVE! Never heard anything that perfect! As close to a full orchestra as a single piano will ever get!

  • That knocked me flat on my ass! Possibly the greatest piece of music ever written and Daniel Rivera pulled it out of that piano like some super human!

    INCREDIBLE!

  • standing ovation. well deserved.

someone's clapping too close to the mike though.

that is a helluva lotta sheetmusic!

  • I can somewhat see what Jomenard is saying. It does sound a little heavy, although this could just as soon be blamed on lackluster sound recording or bad mic positioning. By the by, what's the deal with the tiny audience? You'd think this is a performance one would want to share with an audience of thousands, not tens.

  • I also loved how you got the foot stomps and stuff going, Stravinsky would've been proud.

  • Freaking yes! Awesome.

A performance of Rite of Spring for solo piano should leave the piano going "what did i do to deserve this?!"

way to show the piano who's boss. blah. amazing. fantastic.

  • haha then he should play a sonata to please the piano

  • HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA!!!!! That piano was either REALLY good, or REALLY bad in a past life, depends on how you look at it!

  • GRANDISSIMO.

  • bass is meant to be dominant in the song as to create tension throughout...but im sure you knew that jomenard.

  • Sweet mother of God!!! You gotta be kidding me!!! BRAVO!!!

  • vrabo!

    This is GREAT Performance!

  • Wow.

    That's a great sounding piano!
