  • LOL ... @ 4:11, THE walk of SHAME.....

  • Now if that bus was able to make it by two ft then the box truck should have known he wasn't gonna make it.....

  • i feel bad for this guy....this just happened to me today.

  • the driver didn't obey the no littering sign on the back of his truck.

  • the "over height" light signal wasnt flashing before he hit! O.O

  • dont drink and eat pizza at same time.

  • Ok, so 50 some odd trucks at an average of $50k per truck. That's $2.5 mil,. eh?

  • Pretty amazing the car beside the truck stopped so suddenly without dangerously passing. HE must have thought that the truck might hit.

  • Dang you've got a ton of these videos. How does that bridge survive all of this, even with that steel barrier? Does that wrecker just camp out there knowing he'll get business every day :D

  • Oh, yeah. That'll buff right out.

  • in holland we have the same situation, low bridges, both sides over 10 signs indicating the low height of the bridge. and still a fruitcake every 4 weeks who crashes his box car into a dumper.

  • anyone who drives any type of truck is supposed to know the height of their truck and pay attention to signs. its not rocket science.

  • Did anyone else see the ghost car in the beginning?

  • trucker's first thought: But the bus fit....

  • hey any new videos for 2011 yet are did they finally fix road by lowerin it are closein it to Trucks No use this anymore

  • I have never been to this town but why doesnt the town either post this road as a truck hazard no truck route or dig out the road underneath the bridge to increase the height clearance.

  • @tstautomotive ... a sewer main runs just a few feet below the road, so the grade of the road cannot easily be altered. The low clearance is posted several blocks in advance, the speed limit is 25 MpH, and flashing lights indicate an overheight vehicle. The road or the trestle are NOT the hazard. Inattentive drivers are.

  • @yovo68 youd think the sewer main would be damaged by the weight pounding like a hammer from the 100+ trucks.

  • @yovo68 True. And we've all been through the very low bridges that are also only one lane wide. They're all over and a driver has to BE AWARE!

  • @tstautomotive

As others said, CLEARLY marked 11'8" clearance. The driver obviously ignored the very clearly marked signed & flashing warnings, Didn't notice that visually that the clearance was very low. I'm sure the truck had it's height marked in large black letters, backwards so the driver would see it in the mirrors. How far do we go to stupid proof everything?

No, stupid is as stupid does, & morons like this give us the opportunity to have a great laugh over his incredible stupidity

  • And then he finished his route

  • Hardly truckers, more like car drivers in rental trucks. They're really not used to driving stuff that tall.

  • How many times has this bridge been hit!?!

  • @120mk078 ... no one knows - the bridge is over 100 years old. In recent years we've been seeing crashes about once a month. I have photos from the 50s on my website. No idea if this was a problem before then. My current count is at 43 since April 2008. See my channel and the website for more info.

  • Pissed my pants laughing!!! I never get tired of seeing dumb truckers do stupid stuff!

  • People maybe be laughing but its good the driver is ok.

But thats a hefty fine against the driver.

Have fun paying about 10 grand or more!

  • These videos are hilarious !

  • You always hope they can get through...but they never do.

  • well... it wasnt flashing

  • now i wanna see a bus with an airconditioning unit get stuck under there and a car carrying a stupid load

  • THE BUILDING AFTER THE BRIDGE WOULD MAKE A GREAT BODYSHOP LOL

  • @freakyflow Haha, quick & easy conversion. Now it's a flatbed XD!

  • LOL HOW MANY TIMES A DAY DOES THIS HAPPEN?

  • How far back is this marked? It seems this happens a lot!

  • Is this office working location the best place in town?! I think everybody knows that location :P

  • Whip-lashed! You just got whip-lashed! Ouch!

  • WOW, that black car has good brakes.

  • I swear the truck trailer repair business must have built this bridge! I wonder if any truck driver has done the ridiculous and hit the bridge TWICE? That guy should just be tied to the bottom of the bridge for the next truck to come along if that ever happened.

  • tabarnak sont épais en esti dans ce village là ou quoi...? remonter le pont de 1 ou 2 pieds maudite marde

  • ...gotta love that "Krash Rafter" protecting the bridge...

  • ive seen a bunch of your videos, these people never learn. lol

  • Seriously, it's a wonder you get any work done. lol.

  • I'd say it's time they excavate down a few feet and repave!

  • "Hi officer! I'm all loaded. Where do you want me to deliver this bridge?"

  • Is that company hiring .I need a local job. And I know ny height restrictions.lol.

  • it says the driver wasn't injured but i bet his pants are real shitty.

  • bus: na na nana na!!

    truck: ahhww, this is bad!!

  • it became a convertible . why don't they make the bridge higher or the road lower and be done with it

  • @undocumentedspot Go to the web site for the bridge and you can read why. Basically it's a Norfolk Southern railroad trestle so raising it would require changing the grade for a very long distance in both directions, an expensive proposition. There's a sewer main that runs underneath it so lowering it would also be difficult.

  • @FishKepr thanks for the detailed reply. I guess it would be cheaper if they make a more advanced warning system than the one they already have. maybe a sensor with a loud sound warning and flashing screen that say STOP YOU ARE GOING TO CRASH. lol or they might as well make a bridge overpass that goes over the rail road.

  • @undocumentedspot That would have been a good idea if the approach to the trestle was longer. Notice the intersection and how close it is to the trestle? How would a warning system differentiate between trucks that plan to turn from the ones that intend to go straight? By the time a system could detect the difference it would be too late to prevent a collision.

  • Is it wrong to laugh at these videos?

  • Köcsög egy város az ilyen, meg az ország is.

    Fúúúj USA

  • @sarkanydavid ... Gesundheit!

  • These crashes must be really hilarious for them not to make it an all-way stop.

  • now thats what you call pop clutch

  • Why don't they just dig the road out under it so trucks will clear it?

  • I've having a little bit of deja-vu here, man. xD

  • Fugly!!!

  • Thumbs up if:

When the truck driver couldn't get under when the bus did, he thought "Well, that's just not fair at all."

  • DENIED!!!!!

  • Now the truck can be converted into a "flat-bed" style.

  • Damn, they almost lost whatever they had in there!

  • I wish I was standing on the bridge on that same side of impact right dead in the middle of it ......................... I wouldn't have even budged!!! Bridge wins out all bets off!

  • big deal. just cut off the sheet metal sides and make it a flatbed

  • i hope a truck hits it so hard it falls down completely that way theyll rebuild it the way it should be built

  • stupid ass bridge

  • I love how, rather than making the bridge a little higher, they install a beam for you to hit first.

  • duz the driver has to pay for the truck?

  • Guess I'll have to pick another route for my Mexi smuggling business!!

  • Sir.. here is your Power Plant... sorry for the delay we had a little incident with a Giant CAN Opener, but well everything is Ok...

  • Comment removed

  • LOL bus can make it, so I can too! FAIL

  • hey boss, uhhh , im gonna be a little late to my first delivery this morning!!!

  • Do you think you can stream this camera on your site.

  • Why don't they make a bar before the bridge. Like the bar before you enter a underground parking lot but bigger!! if they do hit the bar it will just swing & driver will get a warning & enough time to stop of coarse. So the bar gets hit and not bridge. It will cost way less to make the Train bridge higher. but I'm sure they have come across this idea.

  • @zZZzzzSnooze2nd I guess it will be a bad idea, at some point the bar will fly off no matter how tough it is because so many people will hit it. Maybe a laser sensor, That will trigger red lights.

  • I love it when the front end comes flying up.Wonder what thats like on the inside?lmfao

  • They should make airplanes out of what ever that bridge is made of, because that mother fucker won't break !!!

  • I'm a Professional Truck Driver myself and it's my responsibility to plan a route that is truck legal and avoids low clearances. Many companies end up terminating drivers who do this as it actually is a preventable accident. It's ultimately the drivers responsibility to be aware of their surroundings.

  • @Nivicoman The railroad overpass was built sometime before the 1930's and trucks weren't that high at that time.

  • is this why my sofa wasn't delivered??

  • will the city ever do something to stop these accidents?

  • @goerizal you can't fix stupid. If I was on the city council I would use this bridge as a tourist attraction and sell tickets.

  • how high are those trucks???

  • @iiiFrederickiii these bobtails (or straight trucks) are 13'6" tall

  • @iiiFrederickiii higher than 11'8" thx lol

  • On the back of the truck its says, litter, its certainly "trashed" now, do you think the driver was a little red faced after LOL...

  • that shit 2 low

  • sadly the driver was not hert ? nothing funny about someone haveing a accident but good tool for makeing a point about brige height

  • 4:26 "Hey man, your truck is kinda Fucked Up." XD

  • These are so frakin hilarious

  • LMAO! Do you have a camcorder running all the time or something?

  • Just another day in the Bull City.

  • Reddit sent me here

  • I CAME HERE FROM REDDIT!

  • Hey there, MySpace!

  • I chuckled.

  • how many people are going to crash into this same damn bridge before someone changes the height?

  • @sockembopers12 A lot, because you can't change the height of a railroad bridge. Even a very shallow grade would be murder for the trains crossing it. All you can do is lower the street.

  • we need to more of these bridges that can withstand truck hits lol

  • MY SUPERVISOR DID THIS AT THE BEER DISTRIBUTOR I WORKED FOR, I BROUGHT IN A CAKE FOR HIM THE NEXT DAY WITH A PICTURE OF THAT DREDED SIGH 11'- 8"...HE GOT PISSED BUT THEN LAUGHED ABOUT IT, THIS HAPPENS VERY OFTEN WITH ALOT OF THE DRIVERS IN THE COMPANY, WE HAVE A CLUB CALLED....YOU GUESSED IT THE ELEVEN FOOT EIGHT INCH CLUB...

  • @mikeymike3232 Shoulda called it the ELEV-EIGHT-CLUB

  • Who the fuck put a bridge at 11'8" when most trucks are taller than that?

  • @Nivicoman It can't possibly have been there before cars and trucks were common or invented, or you know, existed before there was a road there, or any of that. Nope. Impossible.

  • @OverlordXenuAnon It has poured concrete pylons hense it is younger than the automobile.

  • I never take my truck through a bridge marked lower then 13' 6". any bridge marked under 14' I pass under at a crawl. you never know if they have scraped off the old road surface before resurfacing the road & the height could be incorrect.

  • dont they have any other signs 500m before bridge ?? only this last sign its not enough when u going 60km/h

  • how dare the wreck an International!!!

  • why not just raise the bridge? i mean theres enough accidents cuz of it.

  • @LogWiz

Because it's very expensive to raise a bridge, and there probably are other routes that tall trucks can take.

That having been said, a good view of the location is available on Google maps (zoom to street view) at about: "182 S Gregson St, Durham, NC". A good look at the steel beam structure can be seen. Looks to me like the city should paint that steel beam bright red, with white lettering LOW BRIDGE! MANY TALL TRUCKS CRASH HERE!

  • @DonTruman true

  • i bet the people in the office have a black board counting all the hits

  • some truckers don't pay attention to the bridge signs.

  • Specialy LOVE the ones where the roof is only just shaved off. But you do start to wonder yes. Is that hight really correct or are there just so many bad drivers? Or do they think... 11' 8'' is with some space to spare? I often drive (very slowly) under a bridge that says 3,9 meters close to where I live and i am 4 meters. The real hight is 4,07 or something I think but they keep some space to spare which I doubt they did here.

  • do you ever go and see what the drivers reaction is???

  • Job opening!

  • Why didnt they just reverse it out

  • Im guessing this guy worked for Knight Transportation. Hes a credit to everyone at that company.

  • It seems that they get a lot of these box trucks. for some people I guess it's hard to remember that they're 12 feet tall.

  • Do they check the integrity of the bridge? All these hits can't be right.

  • @bwoark - at 1:31 you can see the crash beam the trucks hit. The bridge is only inspected when there is an impact directly to the trestle.

  • @bwoark poor bridge must have a bad headache. Ive been a truck driver for 21 years and i have never hit a low bridge. how can they not see that damn bridge or all those 11ft8 signs .low clearance means low clearance.

  • @bwoark yeah im pretty sure i saw the brifge shift

  • If I was behind any of these drivers, I would feel tempted to open their door and say "It seems you won't fit, eh?"

  • well atleast people take a look to see how the driver is instead of doing nothin!

  • wow. that driver did not even slow down; he hit that bridge full speed. I am going to do a video about a low bridge near me in the near future.

  • mickey's on primetime...

  • I love you guys!!!!!!!! Great stuff!!

  • I believe they should station a Police Officer, Tow Truck, and Rail Road Inspector at that bridge just because some drivers can't seem to read signs and look up at flashing lights.

  • From the first camera angle, it looks like the warning lights were not flashing as he came in to hit it

  • You can see the very last flash of the warning lights, but you are right - the lights turn off before the truck hits the trestle. I think what happened was that the truck was stopped at the crosswalk right after the sensor.

  • Did he make the delivery with the truck in that shape or was he towed and someone else took the freezer?

  • They secured the cargo and the loose pieces (took them an hour) and towed the truck. He had picked up the freezer and was taking it to his shop, I believe.

  • I bet the customer checked the freezer really well for damage when it was delivered! He must have been moving faster than most of the bob trucks we've seen hit the bridge. That one looks to be more torn up than most of them.
