  • The only man who could knock a woman out with charm and class.

  • @BumDog007 Obviously you don't know anything about James Mason.

  • I like to call this the Chris Brown Scene

  • @llerda I shouldn't have laughed at that, but that was HILARIOUS!!!

  • Someone had said that the video was poor. It's a very good picture on my smart phone. Thats how I'm viewing this film on a 3g smart phone, with a 3inch x 21/2 inch screen. The picture is extremely clear.

  • i dont know who said this wasnt funny but it kind is if you've ever been shit faced like her before :D

  • what the hell did Cary do in 0:32 til 0:34? Knock her out? Is she inconscious afterwards? Why she suddenly shut up?

  • 7:09 "that's a very nice looking man" - wtf was this chick smoking, huh? Did they just have different standards for attractive men, in those days? I mean if that fella is a "nice looking man" then Gary Busey kicks all kinds of ass in the 40s.

  • @dredericktotem1245 maybe she was being sarcastic saying he was nice looking haha

  • a stool pigeon is someone that sniches, grass, During the war pigeons passed on messages.

  • @1983CUEVAS what's a stool pigeon??? :P

  • @mubseysmile a snitch, untrustworthy dickhead, backstabbing s o b --got it?

  • Cary Grant is the man!

  • man she sure was tall

  • @HeadofIbis but so was Cary, perfect couple, In Gaslight Charles Boyer was short and somehow they made it work.

  • @1983CUEVAS yeah I love both of them. Interesting to note the incredible level of attraction this woman garnered just by being a swell actress, even though compared to other girls in the pictures she was far from what you'd call a "Bombshell", or even a great beauty. Think about it! It's hard to seriously fantasize about her

  • @1983CUEVAS haha, yeah, so was Bogie - for a guy, and compared to Ingrid, at least. xP

  • I'm no stupid Mr. Devlin

  • @mubseysmile I'm no stool pigeon Mr.Devin is what Alicia said

  • yeah where is part 3?

  • We don't get part 3? =(

  • @btopsmoviechannel1 Where is part 3?

  • i cracked up when he played that big ass album..lol

  • carey grant at 8.40 smouldering wow

  • @LolAyers I waited quite a while for the clip to download just so I could go forward to 8.40. 1/4 second of pure heaven.

  • @dontcindyme i dont blame you! hehe x

  • Prefer the bit in the next part, just before she goes to Sebs house the first time. 1 second long where he eyes Ingrid front head to foot, all the way down and back up again. My favourite sexy shot in film history <3

  • where's part 3 ?

  • Ingrid Bergman was so beautiful.

  • 6:50 She almost looks like Joan Fontaine from this angle

  • wow! cary's silhouettte when she wakes up... so cool!

  • i think the cemetery is for the skyrocketing bodycount in the favelas, by the way ingrid while in Rio made a lesbian porn movie with mulatas named Vargas the Voyeur

  • The Brazillian Waiter sounded awkwardly spanish when asking "Quer alguma coisa?" ( Want something else?). it is nice to compare Rio's footage with nowadays Rio on google earth, at 8:43 those greeny hills in the background are now all built areas and in the lower right corner between the hills there is a huge 440x400 meters cemetery

  • @owicu-- im trying to figure that one out myself..

  • @tumadoireacht-- "fake british accent"?? haha cary grant WAS british! hes trying to have an AMERICAN accent here!

you know, he was hitch's favorite..

  • cary grant's fake british accent is so irritating but it is a good movie even if it is blatantly racist

  • @tumadoireacht It's called Mid-Atlantic (Trans-atlantic) accent.

  • @tumadoireacht Racist? Against whom? The only people treated badly in this flick are the Nazis. I have no problem with that.

  • @tumadoireacht RAcist????

  • @tygresskat -- how right you are. the first time i saw this movie i noticed that little extra "wow" look he gives. i dont know if ive ever seen anything like that in any other movie. just SO genuine.... incredible instant..

  • Hear, hear! One problem with movies today that some jackhole producer would be demanding the script had more action, a hip-hop soundtrack, and a happy meal toy tie in.

  • James Bond was based on Cary Grant apparently so kinda cool that people are comparing them...

  • punches women on the face! he is such a real man!

  • only Ingrid could look good lolling around in bed groaning with her hair in her mouth

  • Wooow, what version of the movie is this?! Where's the punch?! In the version I've always seen, he punches her to knock her out in the car, not.... grabs her arms so she flails and passes out. :c Not that I promote punching women or anyone else in the face, but it really did a better job at emphasizing Alicia's toughness than... well, whatever that was. Standard Female Grab Area.

  • Ohhh, how I love at around 8:40, as she leans over looking out the window across from them, he turns toward her and her nearness seems as though it drains him. Kinda, taking his breath away. (long sigh) I love Cary Grant.

  • My question is, why has this great Hitchcock movie been allowed to stay on YouTube while all his other films have been taken down? If copyright is the issue, why is Notorious immune to the YouTube "maintenance" while his other films are routinely pulled as soon as they're discovered? It's not hard to clean a site if you know what you're looking for, so I'm curious.

  • come on... free yourself from that abuse stuff, this is not abuse or anything similar... this is just sexy... what's wrong with a gentleman being dominant to a woman that needs help? it's just like james bond :) strong men and sweet women, that's our nature and it's what we want to see, don't we? after all this is a movie... and a great movie!!!

  • These were probably the two most believable actors to hit the screen, yet somehow they managed to be stereotyped because of the way they talked. This movie is a gem.

  • looks kinda like date rape O_O awkwaaaard

  • Scary Grant :) GEDDIT?

  • Show me one movie that compares to this in 2010 and I'll drink tainted coffee.

  • @owlcu Inception.

  • @owlcu The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, bottoms up

  • @owlcu tell me about it. movies suck these days and i work at a video store. All i do is watch Dorris Day, Cary Grant and Grace Kelly movies.

  • @sportygirl22 You have excellent taste!

  • One of the best..........

  • This guy is sooooo smooth...

  • He hits her and knocks her out! I find it hilarious, I mean, I'm not for men abusing women, but Cary Grant is a symbolized gentlemen, and he hits her and knocks her out!

  • @darkmountains7

She needed a slap I think even if I am so anti abuse towards women.

  • One of my very favorite films,Ingrid is one of the most beautiful woman that's ever lived.

    thanks for sharing.

  • the drink looks like it would taste like tang

  • "I love this country!"... What a crap

  • This Movie is Wonderful!

  • O my gosh! Ingrid is amazing! wow I just discovered another amazing actress!

  • Ingrid Bergman babe!

  • is it just me or are they 2 of the most beautifull ppl in film or what....?

  • No notenut, it is not just you. Both Ingrid & Cary were at the peak of their natural GOR-GEOUS-NESS:D

  • i dunno about that, ingrid was gorgeous her entire life!

  • So true...SO TRUE:D

  • @Diehardwickedfan like Julie Andrews who is still aging gracefully

  • look out of the window at 7:10 :D

    plan is flaying backwards

    lovely film

ingrid b is a cute one

    carry g handsome as always

  • did they have backward sitting seats in 1946 passenger planes? it does that for awhile -- i cant imagine that it was a mistake!

  • the plane is making a turn, not going backwards

  • i thought about it, still makes no sense to me... it dont get it

  • part of it may be that we don't use actual film anymore- with imaging gone mostly digital, "flat " is what you'll get-

it's not just the people themselves, it's celluloid, which had a specific look. I think

that may be what you're responding to-

    maybe newer isn't always better-

  • Does anybody notice how (white) actresses and singers look flat? They all look the same whereas back then female stars had their own unique beauty like Ingrid. Someone said the fashion/entertainment industry has standardized what they deem attractive. Anybody agree?

  • thebeautyofcolor, I totally agree!

The "fashion/entertainment industry" & sports are BORING. It's like people are making more money but the end results are lacking any kind of imagination.

The reasons why we LOVE classic stars is because back then they had mystery & glamour.

Nowadays, which celebrities have any kind of mystery or star appeal? I can count'em on my 10 fingers.

  • I LOVE Denzel too but I ADORE Cary...he's my numero uno.

BIG fan of Mr. Poitier (what a class act).

  • It has also to do with plastic surgery...back than many actresses used to have their own natural noses, while today every second actress had a nose-job before becomming famous on screen. It is a shame that "natural beauty" has become rare in Hollywood

  • That reminds me of a joke. Why do women wear make up and perfume? Because they're ugly and they stink.

  • Ingrid Bergman was so lovely.

  • This is one of my favourite movies! Thank you so much! If anyone has Spellbound, I would love to see the end of it

  • look it up on youtube, i just watched it yesterday i think

  • I love the part when she looks at the window, gets her face near him and he´s like o_o X_X no words to describe it.thanks for sharing ñ_ñ ñ_ñ

  • airsunlight, I LOVE that scene too!!!

You can actually feel "Devlin" emotions. It's all in the eyes.

  • Whatthehell was that at 0:33, some kind of secret FBI nerve pinch?

  • i know, i'm confused, too. that's what it looked like, i guess.

  • this is quite an unusual part in Cary Grant´s career. Here he´s a patriotic, responsible man. In other films he is a nice, elegant guy who is always trying to pick up gorgeous women. In many hitchock films Sir Alfred tries to change Cary Grant´s roles, making them even more atractive to audiences

  • Yes rather unusual for him to play the upright sensible type. I like it. :) He didn't get many opportunities to break out of his stereotype.

  • I think he excelled when he did though. I've never thoguht of him as a really gifted actor, just more of a charasmatic entertainer. But in his more serious roles, I think he puts in some top quality performances.

  • Me neither. I don't think he had the dramatic abilities of even a Gregory Peck or James Stewart. But he was very versatile, able to play everything from serious roles like this to light comedy very well.

  • thanks for this i love it!
