The second guy (Sebastien Casnier), the best view of the skate is at 1:46 and to me they look like the Salomon crossmax 3. Salomon crossmax 3

Of course Salomon don't make skates anymore so you can't buy these. The closest in the market at the moment would be the Seba FR1

It's hard to tell from the quality but the first guy (Yanik Glatot) has a boot which looks like Salomon FSK skates. Can't tell which frame he has but from how far the wheels stick out from the toe it looks like a flat 84mm set up (very hard to tell)

i ice skated for a few years but quit becuase i was getting to a level where i need to practice more than i could get to the rink, someone said why dont you take up rollerskating but i belived rollerskating wouldnt be anything like ice skating or the ice skating stuff wouldnt be possible.

With what kind of wheels do you do this fast man? I have powerslides 90mm 83A wheels but I can't reach these speeds at all. Okay I'm not this pro yet, but I want to learn :)

@Mastermoviez You should be able to easily reach these speeds with 90mm wheels. I can already almost reach these speed on my 76s, and I've only been skating what... about a month now? All it takes on inline skates is getting started, after that, all you have to do is maintain speed.

@Mastermoviez Well to be honest, your body seems to know what is best. At slow speeds, you generally stand straighter. What you need to visualize it as, is more like biking than walking. At higher speeds, you get lower and lean more into your turns. Of course, since rollerblades have such small wheels, the area of grip is alot less than that of a bicycle( hence why people always use cross overs at high speeds as so to rapidly change direction with minimal lean)

@Mastermoviez Naturally, when crossing over you are in the basic turn stance ( also known as scissor ) which is probably the best stance when travelling at speed, as if you were to hit any rocks, the distance your leg would have to travel before it affects your centre of gravity would be increased, giving you longer to react as well as making it less likely that you should even get caught on one in the first place. Obviously wind resistance is a factor too, but... I'd rather not look stupid.

@Mastermoviez Hardness doesn't really affect speed all that much. Really, it depends on your roads. For my roads, I can't go above 80a or else skating becomes a nightmare. If your roads are smoother and more consistant like the roads in this film, then you can increase the hardness. All the hardness does is allow more of your energy to be transfered through the skate instead of being absorbed. The amount of energy is pretty small though.

@Mastermoviez Harder wheels also mean wider turns at speed, and lower angles as there is less grip. I take it by running to get speed, you mean cross overs? They cross one leg over the other to manipulate their directional force into centrifugal force. What this allows you to do is speed up, and turn sharply at speed. The faster it's done, the more force is transfered/generated. Alot of sprint skaters use crossovers to take off.

He's assuming the ground has less traction and produces less friction, that's the only way he can assume he can produce a certain amount of perpetual motion on roller blades. Those streets are very smooth. You could almost fall down if there was only a little bit of water. But he's using the smooth surfaces to roller blade extremely fast.
