if you want to do this you have to root your cliq (search on YouTube ) than you can flash any rom you want (i use a 2.1 blur rom from  modmymobile ( . ) com ) go on the cliq forums and get a rom from there and than you flash it . than you're done! :D the only thing that doesn't work in most roms are 3d games (some work some don't) but thats gonna be fixed by October - haldi15 from modmymobile

@CliqAnDroid Okay I seemed to have fixed my issue. I simply just downloaded better keyboard, and it comes with its own dictionary that corrects your spelling grammars. What a relief. Texting is basically the only thing I do. well 80%. Thanks for the videos.

@TAR459119 Trust me. It's not coming out. Why would they release an update for the Cliq when the phone itself is old? It's not in their business interest. They would rather you go out and buy a new phone. Don't expect future phones to get updates. Phones evolving faster now than they did anytime before. Every other month, a new OS is released. They would never put new OS on old phones. The new OS are for new phones.

It sucks for us consumers, but it is a good thing for the companies.

@CliqAnDroid The Cliq is an old phone. Android and other phone manufacturers are only worried about new devices. Why would they work on the Cliq? Trust me. It isn't going to come out. It was suppose to come out in Feb, but they delayed it and said it will come out in April. When it didn't come out in April, they said June. Now, we are hearing August. What does that lead you to believe?

Tmobile and HTC are discontinuing the G1. Even the G1 was suppose to get the update.

@zainthesnipe i dont think cyanogen 6 will be ported to the cliq. The devs for cliq usually build their own ROMs from AOSP (android open source project) code and most of the time it runs much better. I will be using it when it comes out, I plan on comparing the speed to the nexus one and seeing how it is against it in a video.

@tophlovr if you want a phone with long battery I wouldn't recommend getting an android. Most android phones don't last more then a day with 2g or 3g on. This phone may last 14 hours with little daily use

@RuNiTzEchO the fastest ROM for cliq that i have seen is Adlxmod, although there are a few issues with it, its a good ROM over all. The nexus one theme on modmymobile has a converted xml file to use somewhere in the depths of the post. I think I'm going to be making a video soon on how to convert a .thm to .xml so you can change it yourself, so look for that in the future

@CliqAnDroid thanks for the reply, after several hours of searching i finally found the xml converter for my themes, after that it was another hour or so of searching untill i found a theme that is compatible with my rom, im using kb7 1.4.8.1 with the ultimate cliq theme. is there a way that i can still use adlxmod with the new 1.4.8 radio?

@RuNiTzEchO yup, adlxmod ROM has 2 different versions, one for the 1.3.8 radio and one for the 1.4.8 radio, so you can flash it. Although, if you want to use a theme, I'd recommend staying on kb7's ROM, because right now there aren't that many for adlxmod
