As of two days ago, I plan on being an anesthesiologist. I have three friends who are going to go to college for it and are set on it too. I am fifteen and am a sophomore in High school. I haven't got a perfect GPA, my averages were 94, Math, 93, Honors English , 98, Chorus, 99,World History last year for my classes. I literally try as hard as I can. Is there anything else I can do to help me get accepted to UNC? I graduate in 2013, so I have a little time to improve myself. Thanks.
CRNAs are well trained. they do not have a MD but sooner or later CRNAs will be taking over. They are in hospitals, surgery centers, dentist offices. They are well trained and they do just as good of a job as an anesthesiologist. Pretty soon the Anesthesiologist will be the boss and all the CRNAs will be working the floor! But I am pretty sure they wouldn't be certified if they didnt have knowledge of what went on!!!
If you need anesthesia, get an anesthesiologist, not a CRNA......nurses aren't anesthesiologists, but the screwed up system in the USA lets CRNA's masquerade as anesthesiologists, misleading patients and possibly doing real harm. I had a bad CRNA and she almost killed me. Why all the talk of money? If money is your primary motivation, forget most anything medical.
The nurse stays by the patient alone by Asa klasse I and II maybe III. The anesthesiologist has then a two table system. If u stay in ASa klasse IV or higher its better to have your own Anesthesiologist. And always for child, cardio, neuro, trauma, obstretic and major operations.
hmm strange in the Netherlands a Anesthesiologist performs the anesthesia. To become an Anesthesiologist you have to study 11 years. 6 years medicine and 5 years anesthesiology. In order to become an intensivist, the doctor must first complete training in a base specialty such as Internal Medicine, Anesthesia or ...
That's BS my friend. MDs make more money for the exact same job that a CRNA does. Ologists just have to go to school longer. There are bad and good on both ends. I have seen some bad ologists that are worse practitioners than CRNAs by a long shot.
That is BS also. I have had tons of physiology and patho. Not all MDs know their physiology. Just like any other profession, there are good and bad in both. I guarantee you I know a couple CRNAs that would blow an MD out of the water. They are PhD CRNAs.
Notice I mentioned nothing about MD's.....another CRNA shill on youtube, typical. CRNA's with 10+ years of experience are gonna be good at their job. Year 1, they don't know shiat, but act like they just got their MD. I always turn away CRNA's because they are incompetent.
These doctors are now the highest paid doctors and careers in american even making more then CEOs average now is 225k+ annualy thats amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a very rewarding career, indeed. Though it takes a lot of work, determination, and perseverance.
There's a reason why Medical School is so expensive y'know. :P

except you may have a glorified nurse performing your anesthesia. make sure to ask if an actual MD is going to perform the anesthesia.

CRNA's are a joke, AA's are the best. CRNA's don't know jack about human physiology.

It's not about the money. It's never about the money. If every job paid the same rate, I would still pick this. I love anesthesia.

Anesthesiologists (MDAs) make ~ 350 > out the gate.
Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) make 120-130K and do the same job both in collaboration with MDAs and in independent practice all over the country.

Boy, that's what you get $400,000 a year for?!? How come they make more than surgeons?

the average income of an anesthesiologist in america is $185,235
dont get me wrong
there are some people who are more qualified at anesthesiology, so they get payed more
like $250,000 - $300,000
