I love Danny Kaye! He and my father's side of my family came from the same place. It's weird because he looks almost exactly like my grandfather and my great-grandfather.
So this sucks because the perfect man is dead now. Darn it and my stupid birth order! Heavens above can you please give us another Danny Kaye? Thank you.
I love this song, really I do, but I always though it was really funny that they were trying to get the baby to fall asleep, and the music just gets louder and louder at the end! LOL Love this song and Danny Kaye soo very much! :)
I had the song "lullabye in ragtime" on my mind this morning. And I had to see if it was featured on YOUTUBE. And it was! Like some of the other comments posted, this is also my favorite song, sung by both DANNY KAYE and BARBARA BEL GEDDES.

"Lullabye in Ragtime" was written by Sylvia Fine....Danny Kaye's wife.
It was for the movie "The Five Pennies." Based on the life story of
famed trumpet player RED NICHOLS and his family ....as also his
legendary musical career.

mumumumusikman2 2 years ago
ragtime is the original jazz so to speak originating in New Orleans and St. Louis in the late 1800's early 1900's
its mostly noticable on piano such songs like The Entertainer and Maple Leaf Rag.
