It has many unique landscapes not to be found anywhere else on Earth. As far as it being the most beautiful place on Earth, to you no, to me probably not either, but what difference does it make. Enjoy it for what it is, a fascinating destination with many wonderful places to experience.

@eliaviel1 It was the end of 1968 when i arrived in Reykavik, from Vietnam. What a change! My wife joined me in a month or so, pregnant with our first child. What a country! We did all the travel we could fit in before she could not take more, and believe me, Iceland IS a majestic land! It's homey, yet full of surprises, and the seasons bring some of the most spectacular beauty imaginable! I was sad when the base closed - no way to revisit grand memories.
I went to Iceland a few months ago in the summer and stayed in a really nice hotel over looking the sea and it was just so nice their, I recommend anyone going their but you have to stay at school till your like 20 or something like that lol :/
i'm 15 years old, and i just love love love iceland and icelandic ;) i was there this summer and i just have to say that i was stunned by the beauty of it all... i am pretty much 100% sure that i will emigrate to iceland (atleast for a while) to study later, and to just enjoy the nature there.. :D
@MrEurocat Well as for the trees, there is not enough top soil left in Iceland since the large forests have been used up hundreds of years ago. However, experiencing this treeless place has it's own magic. The Icelanders are one of the worlds happiest people as a recent study showed. I love Iceland and its unforgiving climate and its lovely people.

the best way to discover a city is to rent a bike... this video shows just a concrete jungle..except of the icelandic letters it could even be a town in the north of canda or maybe norway....but reykjavik has much more to offer...
I used to live in Keflavik. From 1979-80. I enjoyed it very much. I remember dating an Icelandic girl, "Geetha", beautiful. Thank you for sharing this. I remember very little of the area though.
i used to like reykjavik, now it is the worst city in europe, so dirty, ruined. nowhere else is allowed to park on grass,pavements and basically many people likes to park cars on pavements in front of shops because they r lazy. it became strange city lately
