The North's regime cares absolutely nothing for its own people-especially the people of the South-and doesn't think twice about sinking a ship from the south to unify its people or to use as a bargaining chip in negotiations. The north in the middle of power succession and attacked the south in "THIS situation" for the same reasons as it sank the ship.
So why don't you stop saying stupid things and learn something about the situation first?
The ownership of this area is disputed and occupied by military units still (technically) at war. I bet that we will continue to see periodic action (artillery / torpedo) in the future.
@Reqrezentin The South didn't sink their own ship, hasn't thrown a quarter of it's population into prison camps to safeguard a dictatorial regime, and doesn't have policies in place that have resulted in MILLIONS of their own people dying of starvation while the regime rides in Mercedes, educate their kids in international schools and sip on high end cognac.
@stama9 thats what the media wants you to believe. wheres the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? do you have proof that millions of children are starving? theres proof that its happening in Africa, but how do you know its happening in NK? sure, NK might be a shitty place, but media is hyping it up, and your getting sucked into all this bullshit.
@supatoker420 There's proof in the testimony over 20 thousand N.Korean defectors to the South, including footage smuggled out, and in the form of red cross missions there. These are also confirmed by the food aid demanded by the north every time one of these famines take place. It's good to question things. My views are generally left of center on most things too. But this is no bullshit or laughing matter. I encourage you to research it yourself. Or don't, but it's there and it's no B.S.
@supatoker420 In theory communism should be classless, but the Party members in North Korea received all of the benefits while their proletariats and peasants suffer under horrible conditions. Remember that NK is a totalitarian regime and the state cares nothing about the welfare of the people, and in like all totalitarian countries, millions of people die at the expense of the government.
Yeonpyeong island is an area deep inside NKorea territory. SKorea keeps a military presence at this location which possess a threat to NKorea. Could this be the worst location ever to have a military? This Yeonpyeong Island needs to be demilitarized.
