One F16 fighter can easily clear out a batallion before lunch. only militia success in recent years was in georgia to stand off a property foreclosure on a farm. roughly 75 men trenched in held off the sheriff who didn't want to be involved in a standoff with obvious unjustness. If the sheriff would have been the average amoral governement employee the outcome would have been different

We pay property taxes twice a year here in Sonoma Co. , CA, too. Of course we have Prop. 13 which limits how much the state can raise prop. taxes.

So, California raises all the other taxes, income, sales, license fees, etc..People here are limiting their incomes and expenses to avoid taxes.

my brother paid his $9,500.00 property tax w/$5's, $10's and $20's, only because the bank refused to first give him $9,500 in pennies, and then refused him $9,500 in One Dollar Bills aka debtor's notes.. it took 2 employees at the Manchester tax Office a 1/2 hour to count it all.. long Live The Republic..

NH has high property taxes, but the lowest overall taxes as a percentage of income of any state in the lower 48. The nice thing about property taxes is that they hurt to pay...that way, people try to keep their gov't small (rather than sales taxes or income taxes that don't hurt to pay because you pay them little by little).

Also, Ian lives in Keene which has the highest taxes of any place in New Hampshire.

But he paid in fives. I'm sure liberty shall come skipping along shortly.

Not really, that is two separate topics IMO. For example as stated previously NH has no income or sales tax. My state has both as well as property taxes. I am sure that offsets most of the deference between the property taxes.

Obviously it must make a difference since businesses on the borders of NH cater to people coming in from other states to avoid sales tax. The tax on a $1000 mattress or couch for example is about $60 bucks in MA. Not sure about VT...but we don't have income tax either and that's a hell of a bigger savings than $2 at Walmart.

Second you have no idea to what a comparable home in my state DOES pay for property tax, what I pay in income tax and what I pay in sales tax. Are you just pulling numbers out of the air? because I am pretty sure you are lacking some numbers in your figures there.
