Sure dogs attack people, but that's life, a fox did the same a few months back, attacked a sleeping child through it's window, these things happen. Other ways of pest control are shotting them which I'd favour myself but isn't always the easiest. Go and live in the countryside for a while and you may have a greater understand of the whole situation.
