  • Put some grease on the moving parts, I suggest swineschmaltz.

  • Nutter. I like it :D Waaaaaaa

  • I didn't know that they had video cameras in 1585

  • @mihoghunter Yeah, video cameras came from the future courtesy of UFOs.

  • I put 2 wraps around my work piece and get fro 5 to 7 rotations

  • @wooderist ...... doesn't work that way.....

  • pretty...precise...lol

  • وين طالع منه هذا

  • @sssssbooom

A pole lathe can be put together with a mittle bit o rope and some scrap sticks, use a couple screws with the ends filed to a point for your centers. The only cost would be a cutter of some kind but u could use any wood chisel just to get goin. Or forge your own, look at cheap simple charcoal forges online

  • I would love a Spring-pole lathe. I am really interested in traditional wood working (and turning) but I don't have enough money to really get into it.

  • @sssssbooom

Have you been able to get into it since you wrote this note 2 years ago? I hope so.

  • very interesting, but I would have to have a friend standing by to call 911

  • This is a copy of DaVinci's lathe, isn't it?

  • I am not 100% sure but I don't think this was da Vinci's. he made designs for a continual rotation lathe in 1500. And spring pole lathes we thought to be around in the 13th century.

  • cool, i love human technological history!!

  • I'm a descendant of the lost colony thru 2 family lines. Thru the Johnson and Little family.
